Prevent traffic from leaving your network with the 8Signs Firewall
Open up the 8Signs firewall. Then click the plus sign in front of
Network Adapters
.
You should see several options drop down under Network Adapters. You want to choose the choice that your computer is using for your internet connection. Usually this will be the Local Area Connection option. Go ahead and click the plus sign in front of your choice.
Once again you should see a couple of choices drop down. Double click
Rules
.
By default this firewall blocks almost all outgoing UDP traffic. You can remove all outgoing TCP permissions by doing the following. Please understand that doing that will prevent all applications from sending data to the internet, until you create specific rules to allow each application internet access. Be careful not to delete any incomming traffic rules that you created or you will may end up blocking incomming traffic as well.Click on the
TCP
tab at the top of the lower right window. Delete all the rules which have the
Action
set to allow.
