Opening Ports for SureSync on the LavaSoft LavasoftPersonalFirewall Firewall
Open up SureSync.
You might see a window pop up like the one above. If you do, put a dot in to the Allow all activities for this application
radio button, and click the Ok
button. If you try modifing the permissions for SureSync with it open, you will get popup windows while trying to make your changes. So it's best to close SureSync. Go ahead and do that now. Then go aheand and open up the Lavasoft Personal Firewall.
in the menu at the top of your screen. Then click the Application
link in the submenu that drops down.
Now you should be looking at a window that displays a list of applications that you have on your computer. Find SureSync and right click it. Click the Create Rules
or the Modify Rules
link depending upon what show up in that list.
Go ahead and remove all the rules that are listed here. When you are done adding the rules shown on this page, be sure to look at the outgoing guides and add those rules as well. If SureSync is not listed in the outgoing guides, create a rule that allows all outbound traffic for SureSync.
Click the New button on the right hand side of this window.
You will not be able to put a checkmark in to the Where the specified local port is checkbox until you complete the following step. Click the Where the specified protocol is Undefined link, and you should see the following window.
Click the Ok button to save your selection. Now go put a checkmark in to the Where the specified local port is checkbox. Click the and Where the direction is Outbound link, and change the direction to Inbound.Then click the and Where the local port is Undefined link.
Click the Ok button to apply those changes. You should now be back at the rules page and it should look like the following.
Click the Ok button to save that rule.
Click the New
button on the right hand side of this window. Put a checkmark into the Where the specified protocol is
checkbox. Then click the Where the protocol is Undefined
link, and use that page to select the protocol of the ports you are opening. Put a checkmark in to the Where the specified direction is
checkbox. Click the and Where the direction is Outbound
link. Use that page to select Inbound, and then click the Ok button. Put a checkmark in to the Where the specified local port is
checkbox. Then click the and Where the local port is undefined
link. Enter the ports to open in to the Enter the port number or port range, seperated by commas
box. These ports can be entered in a list like 50,52,53 a range like 500-600 or a combination of both like 50,52,53,500-600. Then click the Ok button. Click Ok once more to save the rule.
