Port Forwarding LDC++ on the ADDON BR4000

What is Port Forwarding?

Before we can forward ports for LDC++, we need to figure out what ports LDC++ is using. Here is a brief walkthrough on how to do that. Go ahead and open up LDC++.

In the menu at the top of your screen click the File option. In the list the drops down click the Settings link.

There should be a list of options on the left hand side of the window that poped up. Click the Connection Settings option in this list. Put a dot into the Firewall with Manual Port Forwarding radio button. You should see a TCP box and an UDP box. Enter a random port into each of these boxes. It doesn't matter what ports you choose, but a port numbers between 10000 and 60000 would be a good idea. A higher numbered port is generally the best to use, because most ISP's do not block the higher numbered ports. Please enter the port you chose for the TCP box into the box below.

Please enter the port you chose for the UDP box into the box below.

Open a web browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox. Enter the internal IP address of your router in the address bar of your browser. If you do not know your routers internal IP address please read our How To Find Your Routers IP Address guide.

In the picture above the address bar has http://www.google.com in it. Just replace all of that with the internal IP address of your router. By default the IP address should be set to 192.168.10.1.

You should see a box prompting you for your username and password. Enter your username and password now. By default the username is admin, and the password is 1234. Click the Ok button to log in to your router.

Click the NAT link near the top of the page.

We will list a series of lines here that will show you exactly how to forward the ports you need to forward. LDC++ requires you to forward the following ports: 100000,100001. Go ahead and enter the settings shown above into the Virtual Server menu.

You should see another page of settings that need to be entered into one of the blank lines on your routers Virtual Server page. Go ahead and enter those settings now.

When you're finished, click OK near the bottom of the screen to save your changes.

And that's it! You're done!
