Port Forwarding the Actiontec R1000H Router for QSee PCI and PCI-E DVR Cards

Before Forwarding a Port Setup a Static IP Address

To setup port forwarding on the Actiontec R1000H router your computer needs to have a static IP address. You should complete one of the following steps first:


Now that you have setup a Static IP Address on your computer, please enter the IP address that you assigned to your computer here:

Login to the Actiontec R1000H Router

Now we need to know your routers IP address. You can find it a variety of ways.

How To Find Your Actiontec R1000H Router IP Address

It's ok if you don't know your Actiontec R1000H router's internal IP address. You can find it by doing one of the following:

Login To The Actiontec R1000H Router Using Your Web Browser

Open a web browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox. Enter the internal IP address of your router in the address bar of your browser.

In the picture above the address bar has http://www.google.com in it. Just replace all of that with the internal IP address of your Actiontec R1000H router. By default the IP address should be set to 192.168.2.1.

You should see a box prompting you for your username and password. Enter your username and password now.

The Default Actiontec R1000H Router Username is: admin

The Default Actiontec R1000H Router Password is: admin


Click the Apply button to log in to your Actiontec R1000H router.

Having trouble forwarding ports on the Actiontec R1000H?

If you are having trouble with this guide, then perhaps PFConfig may be your solution. PFConfig is a software tool that will automatically forward ports for your Actiontec R1000H router to save you time and hassle.

  • Open a command prompt on the PC were the DVR card is installed.
  • Type "IPCONFIG" to find out the IP address of this PC.


  • Now open the "Super DVR" program and go to Configuration.
  • Put a check into the Web Camera Service option.

Now that you are logged in to your Actiontec R1000H router you should see the following:

Click the Advanced Setup button near the top of the page.

Click the Port Forwarding link near the left of the page.

Forward Ports 80 on the Actiontec R1000H

We will list a series of lines here that will show you exactly how to forward the ports you need to forward. QSee PCI and PCI-E DVR Cards requires you to forward the 80,1159,1160 ports. Go ahead and enter the settings shown above into the Port Forwarding menu and then click Apply.

Forward Ports 1159 on the Actiontec R1000H

You should see another page of settings that need to be entered into one of the blank lines on your routers Port Forwarding page. Go ahead and enter those settings and then click Apply.

Forward Ports 1160 on the Actiontec R1000H

You should see another page of settings that need to be entered into one of the blank lines on your routers Port Forwarding page. Go ahead and enter those settings and then click Apply.

And that is it! You are done!


Test if Your Ports are Open

Now that you have forwarded ports for QSee PCI and PCI-E DVR Cards on the Actiontec R1000H you should test to see if your ports are forwarded correctly.
