Port Forwarding for the Advantek AWR-954GR

What is Port Forwarding?
What is Port Triggering?

To setup port forwarding on this router your computer needs to have a static ip address. Take a look at our Static IP Address guide to setup a static ip address. When you are finished setting up a static ip address, please come back to this page and enter the ip address you setup in the Static IP Address box below.

Do not skip this step!

Open a web browser like internet explorer or Netscape. Enter the ip address of your router in the address bar of your browser. In the picture above the address bar has http://www.google.com in it. Just replace all of that with the ip address of your router. By default the ip address should be set to 192.168.1.254.

I do not know the default username and password for your router. If you know them, please use our Comments page to let us know what they are. Thanks!

Click the Adavnced link near the left side of the page.

You should now see a new menu. In this new menu, click Virtual Servers.

Enter the ip address to forward these ports to into the Local IP Address box. If you are forwarding ports so you can run a program on your computer, you should enter your computer's ip address into that box. Use the Protocol drop down box to select the protocol type of the ports you are forwarding. If you are forwarding a single port, enter that port number into the Left Port Range and the Right Port Range boxes. If you are forwarding a range of ports, enter the lowest number of that range into the Left Port Range box. Then enter the highest number of that range into the Right Port Range box. Enter the name of the program into the Description box. It doesn't really matter what you put into this box, but something that will remind you why these ports are being forwarded would be a good idea. When you are finished, click the Save button.

And that is it! You are done!
