Before Forwarding a Port Setup a Static IP Address

To setup port forwarding on the Airlink+ ASOHO4P router your computer needs to have a static IP address. You should complete one of the following steps first:


Now that you have setup a Static IP Address on your computer, please enter the IP address that you assigned to your computer here:

192.168.1. <-- Don't Skip This Step!

Login to the Airlink+ ASOHO4P Router

Now we need to know your routers IP address. You can find it a variety of ways.

How To Find Your Airlink+ ASOHO4P Router IP Address

It's ok if you don't know your Airlink+ ASOHO4P router's internal IP address. You can find it by doing one of the following:

Login To The Airlink+ ASOHO4P Router Using Your Web Browser

Open a web browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox. Enter the internal IP address of your router in the address bar of your browser.

In the picture above the address bar has http://www.google.com in it. Just replace all of that with the internal IP address of your Airlink+ ASOHO4P router. By default the IP address should be set to 192.168.1.1.

Having trouble forwarding ports on the Airlink+ ASOHO4P?

If you are having trouble with this guide, then perhaps PFConfig may be your solution. PFConfig is a software tool that will automatically forward ports for your Airlink+ ASOHO4P router to save you time and hassle.

First we need to make sure that your DVR is configured correctly. In the KGuard menu system you should see the following.



Go ahead and select Main Menu.



Now select Network



Make sure Type is set to Static, then make a note of the IP Address listed here. In the picture above the IP Address is listed as 192.168.001.100. Yours will be different. Write down the numbers that you see on your DVR. This is the address that you'll be forwarding the ports to.

Now that you are logged in to your Airlink+ ASOHO4P router you should see the following:

You should see a box prompting you for your username and password. Enter your username and password now.

The Default Airlink+ ASOHO4P Router Username is: blank

The Default Airlink+ ASOHO4P Router Password is: blank


Click the Ok button to log in to your Airlink+ ASOHO4P router.

Click the Advanced Setup link near the center of the page.

Click the NAT link near the left of the page.

You should now see a new menu. In this new menu, click Virtual Server.

Forward Ports 80,9000 on the Airlink+ ASOHO4P

We will list a series of lines here that will show you exactly how to forward the ports you need to forward. KGuard KG-SHA116 requires you to forward the following ports: 80,9000. Go ahead and enter the settings shown above into the Virtual Server menu.

When you're finished, click Apply near the bottom of the screen to save your changes.

And that's it! You're done!


Test if Your Ports are Open

Now that you have forwarded ports for KGuard KG-SHA116 on the Airlink+ ASOHO4P you should test to see if your ports are forwarded correctly.
