Configuring the DVR to pick up an IP address

  • Press Menu on the front panel of the DVR
  • Enter the password: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 & press the <enter> button (center of arrow pad)



  • Select Network

  • Select IP Config.

  • Select DHCP.

  • Select OK
  • Press the ESC button to exit out to the live cameras


Power Cycle the DVR

  • Remove the power cable from the back of the DVR.
  • Wait 20 seconds.
  • Plug in the power cable.


Identifying the IP address

  • Press the Info button on the front of the DVR

  • Write down the IP address, subnet mask & gateway on your screen.
  • Select OK


Assign a Static IP

  • Press Menu
  • Enter the password: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 & press the enter button (center of arrow pad).



  • Select Network

  • Select IP Config

  • Select Static
  • Input the same IP address, subnet mask & gateway - (you wrote down earlier).

  • Select OK
  • Now you have completed the steps required for configuring the dvr.

To setup port forwarding on this router your computer needs to have a static ip address.

Open up the finder on your Mac.

Click the Applications button near the left of the page.

Click the Utilities button near the right of the page.

Click the AirPort Admin Utility button near the right of the page.

Select Apple Base Station from the Select Base Station list.

Click the Port Mapping button near the top of the page.

Click the Add button near the right of the page.

Entry #1

We will list a series of lines here that will show you exactly how to forward the ports you need to forward. QSee QSTD5304 requires you to forward the 80,2000 ports. Go ahead and enter the settings shown above into the Port Mapping Add menu and then click Ok.

Entry #2

You should see another page of settings that need to be entered into one of the blank lines on your routers Port Mapping Add page. Go ahead and enter those settings and then click Ok.

When you're finished, click Update near the bottom of the screen to save your changes.

And that's it! You're done!
