Before Forwarding a Port Setup a Static IP Address

To setup port forwarding on the Asante FR1004FriendlyNet router your device needs to have a static IP address. You should complete one of the following steps first:

Now that you have setup a Static IP Address on your device, please enter the IP address that you assigned to your device here:

Login to the Asante FR1004FriendlyNet Router

Now we need to know your routers IP address. You can find it a variety of ways.

How To Find Your Asante FR1004FriendlyNet Router IP Address

It's ok if you don't know your Asante FR1004FriendlyNet router's internal IP address. You can find it by doing one of the following:

Login To The Asante FR1004FriendlyNet Router Using Your Web Browser

Open a web browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox. Enter the internal IP address of your router in the address bar of your browser.

In the picture above the address bar has http://www.google.com in it. Just replace all of that with the internal IP address of your Asante FR1004FriendlyNet router. By default the IP address should be set to

You should see a box prompting you for your Asante FR1004FriendlyNet password. Enter the password now.

The Default Asante FR1004FriendlyNet Router Password is: admin

Click the Login button to log in to your Asante FR1004FriendlyNet router.

How to Port Forward ivisit on the Asante FR1004FriendlyNet

Having trouble forwarding ports on the Asante FR1004FriendlyNet?

If you are having trouble with this guide, then perhaps PFConfig may be your solution. PFConfig is a software tool that will automatically forward ports for your router to save you time and hassle.

If you have multiple iVisit users on your LAN, each iVisit user's computer should be set to use a different port for iVisit. When this is the case, you should set iVisit to use port 9940 UDP through port 9950 UDP. For instance, the first computer running iVisit on your network should have port 9940 UDP forwarded to it. The second computer running iVisit on your network should have port 9941 forwarded to it. The third computer running iVisit on your network should have 9942 running on it, and so on and so forth. We will show you how to forward the port for the first computer running iVisit here.

Now that you are logged in to your Asante FR1004FriendlyNet router you should see the following:

Click the Advanced button near the top of the page.

Forward Ports 9940 on the Asante FR1004FriendlyNet

We will list a series of lines here that will show you exactly how to forward the ports you need to forward. ivisit requires you to forward the following ports: 9940. Go ahead and enter the settings shown above into the Distributed Servers Setup menu.

When you are finished, click the Apply New Distributed Servers Setting button.

Click the Restart Router button near the bottom of the page.

And that is it! You are done!

Test if Your Ports are Open

Now that you have forwarded ports for ivisit on the Asante FR1004FriendlyNet you should test to see if your ports are forwarded correctly.
