Port Forwarding the Buffalo WBR-G54v2 Router for Defender SENTINEL11

Before Forwarding a Port Setup a Static IP Address

To setup port forwarding on the Buffalo WBR-G54v2 router your computer needs to have a static IP address. You should complete one of the following steps first:

Login to the Buffalo WBR-G54v2 Router

Now we need to know your routers IP address. You can find it a variety of ways.

How To Find Your Buffalo WBR-G54v2 Router IP Address

It's ok if you don't know your Buffalo WBR-G54v2 router's internal IP address. You can find it by doing one of the following:

Login To The Buffalo WBR-G54v2 Router Using Your Web Browser

Open a web browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox. Enter the internal IP address of your router in the address bar of your browser.

In the picture above the address bar has http://www.google.com in it. Just replace all of that with the internal IP address of your Buffalo WBR-G54v2 router. By default the IP address should be set to 192.168.1.1.

You should see a box prompting you for your username and password. Enter your username and password now.

The Default Buffalo WBR-G54v2 Router Username is: admin

The Default Buffalo WBR-G54v2 Router Password is: admin


Click the Ok button to log in to your Buffalo WBR-G54v2 router.

How to Port Forward Defender SENTINEL11 on the Buffalo WBR-G54v2

Now that you are logged in to your Buffalo WBR-G54v2 router you should see the following:

Click the Advanced Setup link near the left of the page.

You should now see a new menu. In this new menu, click NAT.

You should now see a new menu. In this new menu, click Virtual Servers.

Forward Ports 67 on the Buffalo WBR-G54v2

We will list a series of lines here that will show you exactly how to forward the ports you need to forward. Defender SENTINEL11 requires you to forward the following ports: 67,68,80. Go ahead and enter the settings shown above into the Virtual Servers menu.

Forward Ports 68 on the Buffalo WBR-G54v2

You should see another page of settings that need to be entered into one of the blank lines on your routers Virtual Servers page. Go ahead and enter those settings now.

Forward Ports 80 on the Buffalo WBR-G54v2

You should see another page of settings that need to be entered into one of the blank lines on your routers Virtual Servers page. Go ahead and enter those settings now.

And that is it! You are done!


Test if Your Ports are Open

Now that you have forwarded ports for Defender SENTINEL11 on the Buffalo WBR-G54v2 you should test to see if your ports are forwarded correctly.
