Port Forwarding the Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH Router for UltraVNC

Before Forwarding a Port Setup a Static IP Address

To setup port forwarding on the Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH router your computer needs to have a static IP address. You should complete one of the following steps first:

Login to the Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH Router

Now we need to know your routers IP address. You can find it a variety of ways.

How To Find Your Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH Router IP Address

It's ok if you don't know your Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH router's internal IP address. You can find it by doing one of the following:

Login To The Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH Router Using Your Web Browser

Open a web browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox. Enter the internal IP address of your router in the address bar of your browser.

In the picture above the address bar has http://www.google.com in it. Just replace all of that with the internal IP address of your Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH router. By default the IP address should be set to 192.168.11.1.

You should see a box prompting you for your username and password. Enter your username and password now.

Click the Ok button to log in to your Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH router.

How to Port Forward UltraVNC on the Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH


Having trouble forwarding ports on the Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH?

Before we can forward ports for UltraVNC, we need to figure out what ports UltraVNC is using. Here is a brief walkthrough on how to do that. Go ahead and open up UltraVNC and get into the Admin Properties.

In the Incoming Connections area you should see a Ports Main and Ports Http boxes. The Ports Main box lets you specify the port that will be used when you use a VNC Viewer to connect to the server. The Ports Http box lets you specify the port that will be used when you use a web browser to connect to the server. If you want to change the ports go ahead and do so. Then enter those ports into the boxes below.

Click the LAN Config button near the top of the page.

We will list a series of lines here that will show you exactly how to forward the ports you need to forward. UltraVNC requires you to forward the ports you entered above. Go ahead and enter the settings shown above into the Port Forwarding menu and then click Add.
