Before Forwarding a Port Setup a Static IP Address

To setup port forwarding on the Canyon CN-WF514 router your computer needs to have a static IP address. You should complete one of the following steps first:

Login to the Canyon CN-WF514 Router

Now we need to know your routers IP address. You can find it a variety of ways.

How To Find Your Canyon CN-WF514 Router IP Address

It's ok if you don't know your Canyon CN-WF514 router's internal IP address. You can find it by doing one of the following:

Login To The Canyon CN-WF514 Router Using Your Web Browser

Open a web browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox. Enter the internal IP address of your router in the address bar of your browser.

In the picture above the address bar has http://www.google.com in it. Just replace all of that with the internal IP address of your Canyon CN-WF514 router. By default the IP address should be set to 192.168.2.1.

You should see a box prompting you for your username and password. Enter your username and password now.

The Default Canyon CN-WF514 Router Username is: admin

The Default Canyon CN-WF514 Router Password is: 1234


Click the Ok button to log in to your Canyon CN-WF514 router.

How to Port Forward QSee QSDF8204 on the Canyon CN-WF514


Having trouble forwarding ports on the Canyon CN-WF514?

If you are having trouble with this guide, then perhaps PFConfig may be your solution. PFConfig is a software tool that will automatically forward ports for your Canyon CN-WF514 router to save you time and hassle.

Configuring the DVR to pick up an IP address

  • Press Menu on the front panel of the DVR
  • Enter the password: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 & press the <enter> button (center of arrow pad)



  • Select Network

  • Select IP Config.

  • Select DHCP.

  • Select OK
  • Press the ESC button to exit out to the live cameras


Power Cycle the DVR

  • Remove the power cable from the back of the DVR.
  • Wait 20 seconds.
  • Plug in the power cable.


Identifying the IP address

  • Press the Info button on the front of the DVR

  • Write down the IP address, subnet mask & gateway on your screen.
  • Select OK


Assign a Static IP

  • Press Menu
  • Enter the password: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 & press the enter button (center of arrow pad).



  • Select Network

  • Select IP Config

  • Select Static
  • Input the same IP address, subnet mask & gateway - (you wrote down earlier).

  • Select OK
  • Now you have completed the steps required for configuring the dvr.

Now that you are logged in to your Canyon CN-WF514 router you should see the following:

Click the General Setup button near the left of the page.

Click the NAT link near the left of the page.

This router has two different sections that allow you to forward ports. One section allows you to forward a range of ports, and the other allows you to forward a single port. To forward a range of ports, click Port Forwarding. To forward a single port, click Virtual Server.

Forward Ports 80 on the Canyon CN-WF514

We will list a series of lines here that will show you exactly how to forward the ports you need to forward. QSee QSDF8204 requires you to forward the 80,2000 ports. Go ahead and enter the settings shown above into the Port Forwarding or Virtual Server menu and then click Add.

You should see another page of settings that need to be entered into one of the blank lines on your routers Port Forwarding or Virtual Server page. Go ahead and enter those settings and then click Add.

And that is it! You are done!


Test if Your Ports are Open

Now that you have forwarded ports for QSee QSDF8204 on the Canyon CN-WF514 you should test to see if your ports are forwarded correctly.
