Before Forwarding a Port Setup a Static IP Address

To setup port forwarding on the Cyberoam NetGenie router your computer needs to have a static IP address. You should complete one of the following steps first:

Login to the Cyberoam NetGenie Router

Now we need to know your routers IP address. You can find it a variety of ways.

How To Find Your Cyberoam NetGenie Router IP Address

It's ok if you don't know your Cyberoam NetGenie router's internal IP address. You can find it by doing one of the following:

Login To The Cyberoam NetGenie Router Using Your Web Browser

Open a web browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox. Enter the internal IP address of your router in the address bar of your browser.

In the picture above the address bar has http://www.google.com in it. Just replace all of that with the internal IP address of your Cyberoam NetGenie router. By default the IP address should be set to 10.1.1.1.

You should see a box prompting you for your username and password. Enter your username and password now.

The Default Cyberoam NetGenie Router Username is: admin

The Default Cyberoam NetGenie Router Password is: admin


Click the Login button to log in to your Cyberoam NetGenie router.

Having trouble forwarding ports on the Cyberoam NetGenie?

If you are having trouble with this guide, then perhaps PFConfig may be your solution. PFConfig is a software tool that will automatically forward ports for your Cyberoam NetGenie router to save you time and hassle.

Configuring the DVR to pick up an IP address

  • Right Click and select Main Menu
  • Select Setting
  • Select Network
  • Check the box next to DHCP and click Save

Power Cycle the DVR

  • Select Shutdown
  • Set to Restart system and click OK

Identifying the IP address

  • Right Click and select Main Menu
  • Select Setting
  • Select Network
  • Uncheck the box next to DHCP, write down the IP Address, Subnet Mask, and Gateway, and click Save

Now that you are logged in to your Cyberoam NetGenie router you should see the following:

Click the Security button near the top of the page.

The menu on the left should change. In this new menu, click Port Forwarding.

Forward Ports 80 on the Cyberoam NetGenie

We will list a series of lines here that will show you exactly how to forward the ports you need to forward. QSee QC40198 requires you to forward the 80,37777 ports. Go ahead and enter the settings shown above into the Port Forwarding menu and then click Add Service.

You should see another page of settings that need to be entered into one of the blank lines on your routers Port Forwarding page. Go ahead and enter those settings and then click Add Service.

And that is it! You are done!


Test if Your Ports are Open

Now that you have forwarded ports for QSee QC40198 on the Cyberoam NetGenie you should test to see if your ports are forwarded correctly.
