Before Forwarding a Port Setup a Static IP Address
To setup port forwarding on the Dlink DSL-2640S router your computer needs to have a static IP address. You should complete one of the following steps first:
Either try our free program that will setup a static IP address for you called PF Setup Static IP.
Login To The Dlink DSL-2640S Router Using Your Web Browser
Open a web browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox. Enter the internal IP address of your router in the address bar of your browser.
In the picture above the address bar has http://www.google.com in it. Just replace all of that with the internal IP address of your Dlink DSL-2640S router.
By default the IP address should be set to 192.168.0.1.
You should see a box prompting you for your username and password. Enter your username and password now.
The Default Dlink DSL-2640S Router Username is: admin
The Default Dlink DSL-2640S Router Password is: sky
Click the Ok button to log in to your Dlink DSL-2640S router.
