Port Forwarding the Dynalink RTA100+ Router for QSee QSDR008RTC-500

Before Forwarding a Port Setup a Static IP Address

To setup port forwarding on the Dynalink RTA100+ router your computer needs to have a static IP address. You should complete one of the following steps first:


Now that you have setup a Static IP Address on your computer, please enter the IP address that you assigned to your computer here:

192.168.1. <-- Don't Skip This Step!

Login to the Dynalink RTA100+ Router

Now we need to know your routers IP address. You can find it a variety of ways.

How To Find Your Dynalink RTA100+ Router IP Address

It's ok if you don't know your Dynalink RTA100+ router's internal IP address. You can find it by doing one of the following:

Login To The Dynalink RTA100+ Router Using Your Web Browser

Open a web browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox. Enter the internal IP address of your router in the address bar of your browser.

In the picture above the address bar has http://www.google.com in it. Just replace all of that with the internal IP address of your Dynalink RTA100+ router. By default the IP address should be set to 192.168.1.1.

You should see a box prompting you for your username and password. Enter your username and password now.

The Default Dynalink RTA100+ Router Username is: root

The Default Dynalink RTA100+ Router Password is: root


Click the Ok button to log in to your Dynalink RTA100+ router.

Having trouble forwarding ports on the Dynalink RTA100+?

If you are having trouble with this guide, then perhaps PFConfig may be your solution. PFConfig is a software tool that will automatically forward ports for your Dynalink RTA100+ router to save you time and hassle.

Configuring the DVR to pick up an IP address

  • Press Menu
  • Select Network
  • Make sure Type is set to DHCP

  • Select Apply
  • Select Exit
The DVR will reboot & pick up an ip address from the router.


Identifying the IP address

  • Press Menu
  • Select Network
  • Write down the ip address, subnet mask & gateway.


Assign a Static IP

  • Change Type to Static
  • Input the same ip address, subnet mask & gateway - (you wrote down earlier).

  • Select Apply
  • Select Exit
Now you have completed the ip configuration for the dvr.
Move on to the port forwarding section . in you router.

Now that you are logged in to your Dynalink RTA100+ router you should see the following:

Click the Services button near the top of the page.

Select NAT Rule Entry from the NAT Options drop down box.

Click the Add button near the bottom of the page.

Forward Ports 80 on the Dynalink RTA100+

We will list a series of lines here that will show you exactly how to forward the ports you need to forward. QSee QSDR008RTC-500 requires you to forward the 80,9000 ports. Go ahead and enter the settings shown above into the NAT Rule - Add menu and then click Submit.

Forward Ports 9000 on the Dynalink RTA100+

You should see another page of settings that need to be entered into one of the blank lines on your routers NAT Rule - Add page. Go ahead and enter those settings and then click Submit.

Click the Close button near the bottom of the page.

Click the IP Filter link near the top of the page.

Select Low from the Security Level drop down box.

Select Accept from the Public Default Action, Private Default Action and DMZ Default Action drop down box.

Click the Submit button near the bottom of the page.

Click the Admin button near the top of the page.

You should now see a new menu. In this new menu, click Commit & Reboot.

Click the Commit button near the bottom of the page.

Click the Reboot button near the bottom of the page.

And that is it! You are done!


Test if Your Ports are Open

Now that you have forwarded ports for QSee QSDR008RTC-500 on the Dynalink RTA100+ you should test to see if your ports are forwarded correctly.
