Port Forwarding the Edimax BR-6104K Router for KGuard KG-NVR300

Before Forwarding a Port Setup a Static IP Address

To setup port forwarding on the Edimax BR-6104K router your computer needs to have a static IP address. You should complete one of the following steps first:

Login to the Edimax BR-6104K Router

Now we need to know your routers IP address. You can find it a variety of ways.

How To Find Your Edimax BR-6104K Router IP Address

It's ok if you don't know your Edimax BR-6104K router's internal IP address. You can find it by doing one of the following:

Login To The Edimax BR-6104K Router Using Your Web Browser

Open a web browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox. Enter the internal IP address of your router in the address bar of your browser.

In the picture above the address bar has http://www.google.com in it. Just replace all of that with the internal IP address of your Edimax BR-6104K router. By default the IP address should be set to 192.168.2.1.

You should see a box prompting you for your username and password. Enter your username and password now.

The Default Edimax BR-6104K Router Username is: admin

The Default Edimax BR-6104K Router Password is: 1234


Click the Ok button to log in to your Edimax BR-6104K router.

Now that you are logged in to your Edimax BR-6104K router you should see the following:

Click the General Setup link near the right of the page.

Click the Firewall link near the left of the page.

Put a dot into the Disable radio button.

Click the NAT link near the left of the page.

This router has two different sections that allow you to forward ports. One section allows you to forward a range of ports, and the other allows you to forward a single port. To forward a range of ports, click Port Forwarding. To forward a single port, click Virtual Server.

Forward Ports 1111 on the Edimax BR-6104K

We will list a series of lines here that will show you exactly how to forward the ports you need to forward. KGuard KG-NVR300 requires you to forward the 1111,2222,8080 ports. Go ahead and enter the settings shown above into the Port Forwarding or Virtual Server menu and then click Add.

You should see another page of settings that need to be entered into one of the blank lines on your routers Port Forwarding or Virtual Server page. Go ahead and enter those settings and then click Add.

You should see another page of settings that need to be entered into one of the blank lines on your routers Port Forwarding or Virtual Server page. Go ahead and enter those settings and then click Add.

And that is it! You are done!


Test if Your Ports are Open

Now that you have forwarded ports for KGuard KG-NVR300 on the Edimax BR-6104K you should test to see if your ports are forwarded correctly.
