Port Forwarding the Etec 845G Router for Watchnet Netflow

Before Forwarding a Port Setup a Static IP Address
To setup port forwarding on the Etec 845G router your computer needs to have a static IP address. You should complete one of the following steps first:
- Either try our free program that will setup a static IP address for you called PF Setup Static IP.
- Or follow our Static IP Address guide to setup a static IP address.
Now that you have setup a Static IP Address on your computer, please enter the IP address that you assigned to your computer here:
Login to the Etec 845G Router
Now we need to know your routers IP address. You can find it a variety of ways.
How To Find Your Etec 845G Router IP Address
It's ok if you don't know your Etec 845G router's internal IP address. You can find it by doing one of the following:
- Either find your router IP address using this guide: How To Find Your Routers IP Address
- Or you can use our Free Software to find your router IP address. PF Static IP Address and PF Router Detector are both free software applications that will help you find your router IP address.
Login To The Etec 845G Router Using Your Web Browser
Open a web browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox. Enter the internal IP address of your router in the address bar of your browser.
In the picture above the address bar has http://www.google.com in it. Just replace all of that with the internal IP address of your Etec 845G router. By default the IP address should be set to 192.168.0.1.
You should see a box prompting you for your username and password. Enter your username and password now.
The Default Etec 845G Router Username is: admin
The Default Etec 845G Router Password is: admin
Click the Ok button to log in to your Etec 845G router.

How to Port Forward Watchnet Netflow on the Etec 845G

Now that you are logged in to your Etec 845G router you should see the following:
Click the Advanced button near the top of the page.
Click the Port Forwarding link near the left of the page.
Click the Custom Port Forwarding link near the right of the page.
Forward Port 80 on the Etec 845G
We will list a series of lines here that will show you exactly how to forward the ports you need to forward. Watchnet Netflow requires you to forward the 80,5150-5160,554 ports. Go ahead and enter the settings shown above into the Custom Port Forwarding menu and then click Apply.

Forward Ports 5150-5160 on the Etec 845G
You should see another page of settings that need to be entered into one of the blank lines on your routers Custom Port Forwarding page. Go ahead and enter those settings and then click Apply.

Forward Port 554 on the Etec 845G
You should see another page of settings that need to be entered into one of the blank lines on your routers Custom Port Forwarding page. Go ahead and enter those settings and then click Apply.

Select the applications you just created in the Available Rules list, then click the Add > button to move them to the Applied Rules box.
And that is it! You are done!
Test if Your Ports are Open
Now that you have forwarded ports for Watchnet Netflow on the Etec 845G you should test to see if your ports are forwarded correctly.
