How to Port Forward WinMX on the Etec PT-811G

Having trouble forwarding ports on the Etec PT-811G?

If you are having trouble with this guide, then perhaps PFConfig may be your solution. PFConfig is a software tool that will automatically forward ports for your Etec PT-811G router to save you time and hassle.

Before we can forward ports for WinMX, we need to figure out what ports WinMX is using. Here is a brief walkthrough on how to do that. Go ahead and open up WinMX.

Click the Settings button in the menu at the top of your screen.

Under Internet Connection click the Incomming TCP Connections link. You should see a Listen on Port box. The port in that box is the one that needs to be forwarded to your computer. Please enter a port into that box. It doesn't matter what port number you choose, but a port number between 10000 and 60000 would be a good idea. Higher numbered ports are generally not blocked by ISPs. Please enter the port you chose for the Listen on Port box into the box below.

Once again in the Internet Connection section we are going to click a link. This time click the In/Out UDP Packets link. You should see an Send and receive UDP datagrams on port box. This is the port that you need to forward for your UDP connections. Once again pick a random port between 10000 and 60000, and enter it into that box. Please enter the port you chose for the Send and receive UDP datagrams on port box into the box below.
