Before Forwarding a Port Setup a Static IP Address

To setup port forwarding on the GetNet GR-534W router your device needs to have a static IP address. You should complete one of the following steps first:

Now we need to know your routers IP address. You can find it a variety of ways.

It's ok if you don't know your GetNet GR-534W router's internal IP address. You can find it by doing one of the following:

Open a web browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox. Enter the internal IP address of your router in the address bar of your browser.

In the picture above the address bar has http://www.google.com in it. Just replace all of that with the internal IP address of your GetNet GR-534W router. By default the IP address should be set to

You should see a box prompting you for your username and password. Enter your username and password now.

Click the Ok button to log in to your GetNet GR-534W router.

How to Port Forward KGuard KG-SHA116.V2 on the GetNet GR-534W

Having trouble forwarding ports on the GetNet GR-534W?

If you are having trouble with this guide, then perhaps PFConfig may be your solution. PFConfig is a software tool that will automatically forward ports for your router to save you time and hassle.

First we need to make sure that your DVR is configured correctly. In the KGuard menu system you should see the following.

Go ahead and select Main Menu.

Now select Network

Make sure Type is set to Static, then make a note of the IP Address listed here. In the picture above the IP Address is listed as Yours will be different. Write down the numbers that you see on your DVR. This is the address that you'll be forwarding the ports to.

Now that you are logged in to your GetNet GR-534W router you should see the following:

Click the Firewall link near the top of the page.

You should now see a new menu. In this new menu, click Forward.

We will list a series of lines here that will show you exactly how to forward the ports you need to forward. KGuard KG-SHA116.V2 requires you to forward the 80,9000 ports. Go ahead and enter the settings shown above into the Forward menu and then click Apply.

You should see another page of settings that need to be entered into one of the blank lines on your routers Forward page. Go ahead and enter those settings and then click Apply.

Test if Your Ports are Open
