Before Forwarding a Port Setup a Static IP Address

To setup port forwarding on the Hawking HW2R1 router your computer needs to have a static IP address. You should complete one of the following steps first:

Login to the Hawking HW2R1 Router

Now we need to know your routers IP address. You can find it a variety of ways.

How To Find Your Hawking HW2R1 Router IP Address

It's ok if you don't know your Hawking HW2R1 router's internal IP address. You can find it by doing one of the following:

Login To The Hawking HW2R1 Router Using Your Web Browser

Open a web browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox. Enter the internal IP address of your router in the address bar of your browser.

In the picture above the address bar has http://www.google.com in it. Just replace all of that with the internal IP address of your Hawking HW2R1 router. By default the IP address should be set to 192.168.5.200.

How to Port Forward QSee QSDR1744LRC-500 on the Hawking HW2R1


Having trouble forwarding ports on the Hawking HW2R1?

If you are having trouble with this guide, then perhaps PFConfig may be your solution. PFConfig is a software tool that will automatically forward ports for your Hawking HW2R1 router to save you time and hassle.

Configuring the DVR to pick up an IP address

  • Press Menu
  • Select Network
  • Make sure Type is set to DHCP

  • Select Apply
  • Select Exit
The DVR will reboot & pick up an ip address from the router.


Identifying the IP address

  • Press Menu
  • Select Network
  • Write down the ip address, subnet mask & gateway.


Assign a Static IP

  • Change Type to Static
  • Input the same ip address, subnet mask & gateway - (you wrote down earlier).

  • Select Apply
  • Select Exit
Now you have completed the ip configuration for the dvr.
Move on to the port forwarding section . in you router.

Now that you are logged in to your Hawking HW2R1 router you should see the following:

Click the General Setup link near the top of the page.

Click the NAT link near the left of the page.

This router has two different sections that allow you to forward ports. One section allows you to forward a range of ports, and the other allows you to forward a single port. To forward a range of ports, click Port Forwarding. To forward a single port, click Virtual Server.

Forward Ports 80 on the Hawking HW2R1

We will list a series of lines here that will show you exactly how to forward the ports you need to forward. QSee QSDR1744LRC-500 requires you to forward the following ports: 80,9000. Go ahead and enter the settings shown above into the Virtual Server or Port Forwarding menu.

Forward Ports 9000 on the Hawking HW2R1

You should see another page of settings that need to be entered into one of the blank lines on your routers Virtual Server or Port Forwarding page. Go ahead and enter those settings now.

When you're finished, click Apply near the bottom of the screen to save your changes.

And that's it! You're done!


Test if Your Ports are Open

Now that you have forwarded ports for QSee QSDR1744LRC-500 on the Hawking HW2R1 you should test to see if your ports are forwarded correctly.
