To setup port forwarding on the Homeline HLA-BR1000 router your device needs to have a static IP address. You should complete one of the following steps first:
Now we need to know your routers IP address. You can find it a variety of ways.
It's ok if you don't know your Homeline HLA-BR1000 router's internal IP address. You can find it by doing one of the following:
In the picture above the address bar has http://www.google.com in it. Just replace all of that with the internal IP address of your Homeline HLA-BR1000 router. By default the IP address should be set to 192.168.123.254.
Click the Ok button to log in to your Homeline HLA-BR1000 router.

If you can't login to your router because you forgot your Homeline HLA-BR1000 router username and password, use our How to Reset a Router Password guide to set your Homeline HLA-BR1000 router back to its factory settings.
First we need to make sure that your DVR is configured correctly. In the KGuard menu system you should see the following.|
Go ahead and select Main Menu.
Now select Network
Make sure Type is set to Static, then make a note of the IP Address listed here. In the picture above the IP Address is listed as 192.168.001.100. Yours will be different. Write down the numbers that you see on your DVR. This is the address that you'll be forwarding the ports to.
Now that you are logged in to your Homeline HLA-BR1000 router you should see the following:
Click the WAN IP Filter link near the left of the page.
We will list a series of lines here that will show you exactly how to forward the ports you need to forward. KGuard KG-SHA116 requires you to forward the following ports: 80,9000. Go ahead and enter the settings shown above into the WAN IP Filter menu.

When you're finished, click Update near the bottom of the screen to save your changes.
And that's it! You're done!
Now that you have forwarded ports for KGuard KG-SHA116 on the Homeline HLA-BR1000 you should test to see if your ports are forwarded correctly.
