Port Forwarding the Inventel DV4210-WU Router for CanVision

Before Forwarding a Port Setup a Static IP Address

To setup port forwarding on the Inventel DV4210-WU router your computer needs to have a static IP address. You should complete one of the following steps first:

Login to the Inventel DV4210-WU Router

Now we need to know your routers IP address. You can find it a variety of ways.

How To Find Your Inventel DV4210-WU Router IP Address

It's ok if you don't know your Inventel DV4210-WU router's internal IP address. You can find it by doing one of the following:

Login To The Inventel DV4210-WU Router Using Your Web Browser

Open a web browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox. Enter the internal IP address of your router in the address bar of your browser.

In the picture above the address bar has http://www.google.com in it. Just replace all of that with the internal IP address of your Inventel DV4210-WU router. By default the IP address should be set to 192.168.1.1.

Click the Access to the configuration pages link near the bottom of the page.

You should see a box prompting you for your username and password. Enter your username and password now.

The Default Inventel DV4210-WU Router Username is: admin

The Default Inventel DV4210-WU Router Password is: admin


Click the Ok button to log in to your Inventel DV4210-WU router.

How to Port Forward CanVision on the Inventel DV4210-WU

If you are having trouble with this guide, then perhaps PFConfig may be your solution. PFConfig is a software tool that will automatically forward ports for your Inventel DV4210-WU router to save you time and hassle.

This guide will work for the following CanVision products.

IP-100 (Video and audio)
IP-300 (video only ip network camera)
IP-301 (Video and audio)
IP-200 (video and audio server box)
PT-300 (Pan Tilt video and audio gpio, WiFi, POE, ip network camera)
IP-560 (video and audio plus gpio plus changable lens)

MPEG4 format
IP-220 (video and audio , gpio, RS485 control video server box)
IP-580 (video and audio , gpio plus changable lens)
PT-380 (Pan Tilt video and audio , gpio, WiFi, POE, plus changable lens)

MPEG4 IP-TV
TVS-120 (IP television brocasting system)

The default port used by these cameras is TCP Port 80. You can change this port if you want to. To do so open up the O'RITE utility.

The HTTP Port1 box contains the port that should needs to be forwarded. Enter the port you chose in the following box. If you did not change port that your camera is using, just enter 80 into the following box.

Now that you are logged in to your Inventel DV4210-WU router you should see the following:

Click the Configuration link near the left of the page.

You should now see a new menu. In this new menu, click Advanced.

You should now see a new menu. In this new menu, click Router.

Click the Add button near the bottom of the page.

Forward User Defined Port on the Inventel DV4210-WU

We will list a series of lines here that will show you exactly how to forward the ports you need to forward. CanVision requires you to forward the ports you entered above. Go ahead and enter the settings shown above into the Port Forwarding - NAT menu and then click Submit.

Select from the following list:
Manual service:
 
Protocol
External port (port or port-port)
Internal port (port or port-port)
Server IP Address


Forward User Defined Port on the Inventel DV4210-WU

You should see another page of settings that need to be entered into one of the blank lines on your routers Port Forwarding - NAT page. Go ahead and enter those settings and then click Submit.

Select from the following list:
Manual service:
 
Protocol
External port (port or port-port)
Internal port (port or port-port)
Server IP Address

And that is it! You are done!


Test if Your Ports are Open

Now that you have forwarded ports for CanVision on the Inventel DV4210-WU you should test to see if your ports are forwarded correctly.
