Port Forwarding the Justec JBR454W Router for Ares

Before Forwarding a Port Setup a Static IP Address

To setup port forwarding on the Justec JBR454W router your computer needs to have a static IP address. You should complete one of the following steps first:


Now that you have setup a Static IP Address on your computer, please enter the IP address that you assigned to your computer here:

Login to the Justec JBR454W Router

Now we need to know your routers IP address. You can find it a variety of ways.

How To Find Your Justec JBR454W Router IP Address

It's ok if you don't know your Justec JBR454W router's internal IP address. You can find it by doing one of the following:

Login To The Justec JBR454W Router Using Your Web Browser

Open a web browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox. Enter the internal IP address of your router in the address bar of your browser.

In the picture above the address bar has http://www.google.com in it. Just replace all of that with the internal IP address of your Justec JBR454W router. By default the IP address should be set to 192.168.2.1.

You should see a box prompting you for your Justec JBR454W password. Enter the password now.

The Default Justec JBR454W Router Password is: admin001


Click the Login button to log in to your Justec JBR454W router.

How to Port Forward Ares on the Justec JBR454W


Having trouble forwarding ports on the Justec JBR454W?

Before we can forward ports for Ares, we need to figure out what ports ares is using. Here is a brief walkthrough on how to do that.

Open up Ares. Then click the Control Panel icon in the toolbar at the top of your screen.

You should see a bunch of tabs close to the top of this window. One of these tabs should be labeled Transfer. Go ahead and click it now.

Enter the port you want Ares to use into the Accept incoming connections on port box. By default this port is set to 1157. You can change it to whatever you like, or leave it set to 1157.

Please enter the port you chose for Ares below.

Now that you are logged in to your Justec JBR454W router you should see the following:

Click the Advanced Setup link.

Click the NAT link near the left of the page.

You should now see a new menu. In this new menu, click Virtual Server.

Forward User Defined Port on the Justec JBR454W

We will list a series of lines here that will show you exactly how to forward the ports you need to forward. Ares requires you to forward the ports you entered above. Go ahead and enter the settings shown above into the Virtual Server menu.

When you're finished, click Apply near the bottom of the screen to save your changes.

And that's it! You're done!


Test if Your Ports are Open

Now that you have forwarded ports for Ares on the Justec JBR454W you should test to see if your ports are forwarded correctly.
