Before Forwarding a Port Setup a Static IP Address

To setup port forwarding on the LanTech HR-117 router your device needs to have a static IP address. You should complete one of the following steps first:

Login to the LanTech HR-117 Router

Now we need to know your routers IP address. You can find it a variety of ways.

How To Find Your LanTech HR-117 Router IP Address

It's ok if you don't know your LanTech HR-117 router's internal IP address. You can find it by doing one of the following:

Login To The LanTech HR-117 Router Using Your Web Browser

Open a web browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox. Enter the internal IP address of your router in the address bar of your browser.

In the picture above the address bar has http://www.google.com in it. Just replace all of that with the internal IP address of your LanTech HR-117 router. By default the IP address should be set to

You should see a box prompting you for your LanTech HR-117 password. Enter the password now.

Click the Login button to log in to your LanTech HR-117 router.

How to Port Forward Soulseek on the LanTech HR-117

Having trouble forwarding ports on the LanTech HR-117?

If you are having trouble with this guide, then perhaps PFConfig may be your solution. PFConfig is a software tool that will automatically forward ports for your router to save you time and hassle.

Soulseek picks a random port, and uses that port to transmit data. Before we can forward ports for Soulseek, we need to find out which port to forward. Go ahead and open up Soulseek now.

In the menu at the top of your screen, click Options. This will drop down a submenu. In this menu click the General Options link.

The port in the Listening Port box, is the port that Soulseek is using. You can change this port to whatever you like, or you can just leave it set like it is. Please enter that port number into the following box.

Now that you are logged in to your LanTech HR-117 router you should see the following:

Click the NAT link near the left of the page.

Forward User Defined Port on the LanTech HR-117

We will list a series of lines here that will show you exactly how to forward the ports you need to forward. Soulseek requires you to forward the ports you entered above. Go ahead and enter the settings shown above into the NAT Server menu.

When you're finished, click Apply near the bottom of the screen to save your changes.

Test if Your Ports are Open

Now that you have forwarded ports for Soulseek on the LanTech HR-117 you should test to see if your ports are forwarded correctly.
