Now we need to know your routers IP address. You can find it a variety of ways.
It's ok if you don't know your Level One FBR-1403TX router's internal IP address. You can find it by doing one of the following:
Open a web browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox. Enter the internal IP address of your router in the address bar of your browser.
In the picture above the address bar has http://www.google.com in it. Just replace all of that with the internal IP address of your Level One FBR-1403TX router. By default the IP address should be set to 192.168.0.1.
If you are having trouble with this guide, then perhaps PFConfig may be your solution. PFConfig is a software tool that will automatically forward ports for your router to save you time and hassle.
Before we can forward ports for DC++, we need to set which port DC++ is using. Here is a brief walkthrough on how to do that. Go ahead and open up DC++.
Click File in the menu at the top of your screen. In the list that drops down click Settings.
Make sure the Active radio button has a dot in it. I'm not absolutely sure that entering your external ip address in the IP box is required. You can try leaving it blank, but if you remain unconnectable try putting your external ip address into that box. Your external ip address is 188.8.131.52. Enter the port you want DC++ to use into the TCP Port and the UDP Port boxes. You can enter whatever port you like into those boxes, but a port between 10000-60000 will most likely not be blocked by your ISP. Please enter the port you chose into the box below.
Now that you are logged in to your Level One FBR-1403TX router you should see the following:
You should see a box prompting you for your username and password. Enter your username and password now.
Click the Ok button to log in to your Level One FBR-1403TX router.
Please visit our Default Level One Router Passwords page if the username and password shown below did not work for you.
If you can't login to your router because you forgot your Level One FBR-1403TX router username and password, use our How to Reset a Router Password guide to set your Level One FBR-1403TX router back to its factory settings.
Click the Advanced link near the left of the page.
Click the Virtual Servers link near the center of the page.
We will list a series of lines here that will show you exactly how to forward the ports you need to forward. DC++ requires you to forward the ports you entered above. Go ahead and enter the settings shown above into the Virtual Servers menu and then click Add.
|Internal Port No.||External Port No.|
And that is it! You are done!
Now that you have forwarded ports for DC++ on the Level One FBR-1403TX you should test to see if your ports are forwarded correctly.
