Before Forwarding a Port Setup a Static IP Address

To setup port forwarding on the Linksys BEFDSR41W router your device needs to have a static IP address. You should complete one of the following steps first:

You should see a box prompting you for your username and password. Enter your username and password now.

How to Port Forward ivisit on the Linksys BEFDSR41W

If you have multiple iVisit users on your LAN, each iVisit user's computer should be set to use a different port for iVisit. When this is the case, you should set iVisit to use port 9940 UDP through port 9950 UDP. For instance, the first computer running iVisit on your network should have port 9940 UDP forwarded to it. The second computer running iVisit on your network should have port 9941 forwarded to it. The third computer running iVisit on your network should have 9942 running on it, and so on and so forth. We will show you how to forward the port for the first computer running iVisit here.

Now that you are logged in to your Linksys BEFDSR41W router you should see the following:

Click the Advanced button near the right of the page.

The menu near the top should change. In this new menu, click Filters.

Put a dot into the Block WAN Request Disable radio button.

Click the Apply button near the bottom of the page.

Click the Forwarding button near the top of the page.

Forward Ports 9940 on the Linksys BEFDSR41W

We will list a series of lines here that will show you exactly how to forward the ports you need to forward. ivisit requires you to forward the following ports: 9940. Go ahead and enter the settings shown above into the Forwarding menu.

When you're finished, click Apply near the bottom of the screen to save your changes.

Test if Your Ports are Open
