Port Forwarding the Linksys FON-WRT54GL Router for Motorhead Server

Before Forwarding a Port Setup a Static IP Address

To setup port forwarding on the Linksys FON-WRT54GL router your device needs to have a static IP address. You should complete one of the following steps first:

Login to the Linksys FON-WRT54GL Router

Now we need to know your routers IP address. You can find it a variety of ways.

How To Find Your Linksys FON-WRT54GL Router IP Address

It's ok if you don't know your Linksys FON-WRT54GL router's internal IP address. You can find it by doing one of the following:

Login To The Linksys FON-WRT54GL Router Using Your Web Browser

Open a web browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox. Enter the internal IP address of your router in the address bar of your browser.

In the picture above the address bar has http://www.google.com in it. Just replace all of that with the internal IP address of your Linksys FON-WRT54GL router. By default the IP address should be set to

You should see a box prompting you for your Linksys FON-WRT54GL password. Enter the password now.

The Default Linksys FON-WRT54GL Router Password is: admin

Click the Ok button to log in to your Linksys FON-WRT54GL router.

Now that you are logged in to your Linksys FON-WRT54GL router you should see the following:

Click the Network link near the top of the page.

The menu below that should change. In this new menu, click Firewall.

Click the Add button near the bottom of the page.

Forward Ports 16000 on the Linksys FON-WRT54GL

We will list a series of lines here that will show you exactly how to forward the ports you need to forward. Motorhead Server requires you to forward the 16000,16010-16030 ports. Go ahead and enter the settings shown above into the Save menu and then click Firewall Configuration.

You should see another page of settings that need to be entered into one of the blank lines on your routers Save page. Go ahead and enter those settings and then click Firewall Configuration.

And that is it! You are done!

Test if Your Ports are Open

Now that you have forwarded ports for Motorhead Server on the Linksys FON-WRT54GL you should test to see if your ports are forwarded correctly.
