Before Forwarding a Port Setup a Static IP Address

To setup port forwarding on the Net-Lynx WR514R router your device needs to have a static IP address. You should complete one of the following steps first:

Login to the Net-Lynx WR514R Router

Now we need to know your routers IP address. You can find it a variety of ways.

How To Find Your Net-Lynx WR514R Router IP Address

It's ok if you don't know your Net-Lynx WR514R router's internal IP address. You can find it by doing one of the following:

Login To The Net-Lynx WR514R Router Using Your Web Browser

Open a web browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox. Enter the internal IP address of your router in the address bar of your browser.

In the picture above the address bar has http://www.google.com in it. Just replace all of that with the internal IP address of your Net-Lynx WR514R router. By default the IP address should be set to

You should see a box prompting you for your username and password. Enter your username and password now.

The Default Net-Lynx WR514R Router Username is: admin

The Default Net-Lynx WR514R Router Password is: 1234

Click the Ok button to log in to your Net-Lynx WR514R router.

How to Port Forward KGuard KG-SHA108 on the Net-Lynx WR514R

Having trouble forwarding ports on the Net-Lynx WR514R?

If you are having trouble with this guide, then perhaps PFConfig may be your solution. PFConfig is a software tool that will automatically forward ports for your router to save you time and hassle.

First we need to make sure that your DVR is configured correctly. In the KGuard menu system you should see the following.

Go ahead and select Main Menu.

Now select Network

Make sure Type is set to Static, then make a note of the IP Address listed here. In the picture above the IP Address is listed as Yours will be different. Write down the numbers that you see on your DVR. This is the address that you'll be forwarding the ports to.

Now that you are logged in to your Net-Lynx WR514R router you should see the following:

Click the Firewall link near the left of the page.

You should now see a new menu. In this new menu, click Port Forwarding.

Forward Ports 80 on the Net-Lynx WR514R

We will list a series of lines here that will show you exactly how to forward the ports you need to forward. KGuard KG-SHA108 requires you to forward the 80,9000 ports. Go ahead and enter the settings shown above into the Port Forwarding menu and then click Apply Changes.

You should see another page of settings that need to be entered into one of the blank lines on your routers Port Forwarding page. Go ahead and enter those settings and then click Apply Changes.

And that is it! You are done!

Test if Your Ports are Open

Now that you have forwarded ports for KGuard KG-SHA108 on the Net-Lynx WR514R you should test to see if your ports are forwarded correctly.
