Before Forwarding a Port Setup a Static IP Address

To setup port forwarding on the Netgear DG834GUv5 router your device needs to have a static IP address. You should complete one of the following steps first:

Open a web browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox. Enter the internal IP address of your router in the address bar of your browser.

In the picture above the address bar has http://www.google.com in it. Just replace all of that with the internal IP address of your Netgear DG834GUv5 router. By default the IP address should be set to

You should see a box prompting you for your username and password. Enter your username and password now.

Now that you are logged in to your Netgear DG834GUv5 router you should see the following:

Forward Ports 3074 on the Netgear DG834GUv5

We will list a series of lines here that will show you exactly how to forward the ports you need to forward. XBOX360 Chaos Head Noah requires you to forward the 3074 ports. Go ahead and enter the settings shown above into the Port map. or Port fw. menu and then click Add.

Click the Services link near the left of the page.


Click the Add a Custom Service button near the center of the page.


Go ahead and enter the following settings in to your router's Add Custom Service page.

Start Port:
Finish Port:

When you're finished, click the Apply button.

Now we need to do the second half of the port forward, so click the Firewall Rules link near the left of the page.


Click the Inbound Services or Outbound Services Add button. If you are unsure whether the program you are using will use these ports for inbound or outbound traffic, go ahead and repeat the following for both.


Go ahead and enter the following settings in to your router's Firewall Rules page.

Service Type:
Send to LAN Server: ...
WAN Users:
  start: ...
  finish: ...

When you're finished, click the Apply button.

And that is it! You are done!

Test if Your Ports are Open
