Port Forwarding the Netgear MBR624GU Router for Dead Space 2

Before Forwarding a Port Setup a Static IP Address

To setup port forwarding on the Netgear MBR624GU router your computer needs to have a static IP address. You should complete one of the following steps first:


Now that you have setup a Static IP Address on your computer, please enter the IP address that you assigned to your computer here:

192.168.0. <-- Don't Skip This Step!

Login to the Netgear MBR624GU Router

Now we need to know your routers IP address. You can find it a variety of ways.

How To Find Your Netgear MBR624GU Router IP Address

It's ok if you don't know your Netgear MBR624GU router's internal IP address. You can find it by doing one of the following:

Login To The Netgear MBR624GU Router Using Your Web Browser

Open a web browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox. Enter the internal IP address of your router in the address bar of your browser.

In the picture above the address bar has http://www.google.com in it. Just replace all of that with the internal IP address of your Netgear MBR624GU router. By default the IP address should be set to 192.168.0.1.

You should see a box prompting you for your username and password. Enter your username and password now.

The Default Netgear MBR624GU Router Username is: admin

The Default Netgear MBR624GU Router Password is: password


Click the Ok button to log in to your Netgear MBR624GU router.

Forward Ports 8088-28088 on the Netgear MBR624GU

We will list a series of lines here that will show you exactly how to forward the ports you need to forward. Dead Space 2 requires you to forward the 8088-28088,28910,29900-29901 ports. Go ahead and enter the settings shown above into the Port Mapping menu and then click Submit.

Click the Add a Custom Service button near the center of the page.

Go ahead and enter the following settings in to your router's Add Custom Service page.


Name:
Type:
Start Port:
Finish Port:


When you're finished, click the Apply button.

Now we need to do the second half of the port forward, so click the Firewall Rules link near the left of the page.

Click the Inbound Services or Outbound Services Add button. If you are unsure whether the program you are using will use these ports for inbound or outbound traffic, go ahead and repeat the following for both.

Go ahead and enter the following settings in to your router's Firewall Rules page.


Service Type:
Action:
Send to LAN Server: ...
WAN Users:
  start: ...
  finish: ...
Log:


When you're finished, click the Apply button.



Forward Ports 28910 on the Netgear MBR624GU

You should see another page of settings that need to be entered into one of the blank lines on your routers Port Mapping page. Go ahead and enter those settings and then click Submit.

When you're finished, click the Apply button.
