Before Forwarding a Port Setup a Static IP Address

To setup port forwarding on the Netopia 3346N-002 router your computer needs to have a static IP address. You should complete one of the following steps first:

Login to the Netopia 3346N-002 Router

Now we need to know your routers IP address. You can find it a variety of ways.

How To Find Your Netopia 3346N-002 Router IP Address

It's ok if you don't know your Netopia 3346N-002 router's internal IP address. You can find it by doing one of the following:

Login To The Netopia 3346N-002 Router Using Your Web Browser

Open a web browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox. Enter the internal IP address of your router in the address bar of your browser.

In the picture above the address bar has http://www.google.com in it. Just replace all of that with the internal IP address of your Netopia 3346N-002 router. By default the IP address should be set to 192.168.1.1.

You should see a box prompting you for your username and password. Enter your username and password now.

The Default Netopia 3346N-002 Router Username is: admin

The Default Netopia 3346N-002 Router Password is: 1234


Click the Ok button to log in to your Netopia 3346N-002 router.

Having trouble forwarding ports on the Netopia 3346N-002?

If you are having trouble with this guide, then perhaps PFConfig may be your solution. PFConfig is a software tool that will automatically forward ports for your Netopia 3346N-002 router to save you time and hassle.

Configuring the DVR to pick up an IP address

  • Press Menu
  • Select Network
  • Make sure Type is set to DHCP

  • Select Apply
  • Select Exit
The DVR will reboot & pick up an ip address from the router.


Identifying the IP address

  • Press Menu
  • Select Network
  • Write down the ip address, subnet mask & gateway.


Assign a Static IP

  • Change Type to Static
  • Input the same ip address, subnet mask & gateway - (you wrote down earlier).

  • Select Apply
  • Select Exit
Now you have completed the ip configuration for the dvr.
Move on to the port forwarding section . in you router.

Now that you are logged in to your Netopia 3346N-002 router you should see the following:

Click the Expert Mode link near the left of the page.

Click the Yes, enter expert mode button near the center of the page.

The menu on the left should change. In this new menu, click Configure.

You should now see a new menu. In this new menu, click NAT.

Click the Define Custom Service button near the center of the page.

Put a dot into the Port Forwarding: Range of Ports radio button.

Click the Next button.

Forward Ports 80 on the Netopia 3346N-002

We will list a series of lines here that will show you exactly how to forward the ports you need to forward. QSee QR424-403-3 requires you to forward the 80,9000 ports. Go ahead and enter the settings shown above into the Port Range menu and then click Next.

Base Host Port:
Protocol: TCPUDP


Forward Ports 9000 on the Netopia 3346N-002

You should see another page of settings that need to be entered into one of the blank lines on your routers Port Range page. Go ahead and enter those settings and then click Next.

  The above name will be saved as this service's description
Global Port Range: -
Base Host Port:
Protocol: TCPUDP

Select the service you created from the Service Name drop down box.

Click the Enable button.

And that is it! You are done!


Test if Your Ports are Open

Now that you have forwarded ports for QSee QR424-403-3 on the Netopia 3346N-002 you should test to see if your ports are forwarded correctly.
