Port Forwarding the Octtel SP4220 Router for PS3 Homefront

Before Forwarding a Port Setup a Static IP Address

To setup port forwarding on the Octtel SP4220 router your computer needs to have a static IP address. You should complete one of the following steps first:

• Either try our free program that will setup a static IP address for you called PF Setup Static IP.
• Or follow our Static IP Address guide to setup a static IP address.

Now that you have setup a Static IP Address on your computer, please enter the IP address that you assigned to your computer here:

Login to the Octtel SP4220 Router

Now we need to know your routers IP address. You can find it a variety of ways.

How To Find Your Octtel SP4220 Router IP Address

It's ok if you don't know your Octtel SP4220 router's internal IP address. You can find it by doing one of the following:

• Either find your router IP address using this guide: How To Find Your Routers IP Address
• Or you can use our Free Software to find your router IP address. PF Static IP Address and PF Router Detector are both free software applications that will help you find your router IP address.

Login To The Octtel SP4220 Router Using Your Web Browser

Open a web browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox. Enter the internal IP address of your router in the address bar of your browser.

In the picture above the address bar has http://www.google.com in it. Just replace all of that with the internal IP address of your Octtel SP4220 router. By default the IP address should be set to 192.168.0.1.

You should see a box prompting you for your username and password. Enter your username and password now.

Click the Login button to log in to your Octtel SP4220 router.

How to Port Forward PS3 Homefront on the Octtel SP4220

Now that you are logged in to your Octtel SP4220 router you should see the following:

Click the Firewall Settings link near the left of the page.

You should now see a new menu. In this new menu, click Virtual Server.

Put a checkmark in the Uses Virtual Server checkbox.

We will list a series of lines here that will show you exactly how to forward the ports you need to forward. PS3 Homefront requires you to forward the following ports: 5223,3478-3479,3658. Go ahead and enter the settings shown above into the Virtual Server menu.

You should see another page of settings that need to be entered into one of the blank lines on your routers Virtual Server page. Go ahead and enter those settings now.

When you are finished, click the Accept button.

Click the System Settings link near the left of the page.

You should now see a new menu. In this new menu, click System Operation.

Put a checkmark in the Save Settings checkbox.

Put a checkmark in the Restart checkbox.

When you're finished, click Accept near the bottom of the screen to save your changes.

And that's it! You're done!

Test if Your Ports are Open

Now that you have forwarded ports for PS3 Homefront on the Octtel SP4220 you should test to see if your ports are forwarded correctly.
