Before Forwarding a Port Setup a Static IP Address

To setup port forwarding on the Planet ADE-4100 router your computer needs to have a static IP address. You should complete one of the following steps first:


Now that you have setup a Static IP Address on your computer, please enter the IP address that you assigned to your computer here:

Login to the Planet ADE-4100 Router

Now we need to know your routers IP address. You can find it a variety of ways.

How To Find Your Planet ADE-4100 Router IP Address

It's ok if you don't know your Planet ADE-4100 router's internal IP address. You can find it by doing one of the following:

Login To The Planet ADE-4100 Router Using Your Web Browser

Open a web browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox. Enter the internal IP address of your router in the address bar of your browser.

In the picture above the address bar has http://www.google.com in it. Just replace all of that with the internal IP address of your Planet ADE-4100 router. By default the IP address should be set to 10.0.0.2.

How to Port Forward Http File Server-HFS on the Planet ADE-4100


Having trouble forwarding ports on the Planet ADE-4100?

If you are having trouble with this guide, then perhaps PFConfig may be your solution. PFConfig is a software tool that will automatically forward ports for your Planet ADE-4100 router to save you time and hassle.

Before we can forward ports for HFS, we need to set the ports HFS is using. Go ahead and open up HFS.

At the very top of your screen you should see a Port box. That box contains the port that you need to forward for HFS. You can change this port if you want to. Please enter the port you chose into the box below.

Now that you are logged in to your Planet ADE-4100 router you should see the following:

Click the Virtual Server link near the left of the page.

Forward User Defined Port on the Planet ADE-4100

We will list a series of lines here that will show you exactly how to forward the ports you need to forward. Http File Server-HFS requires you to forward the ports you entered above. Go ahead and enter the settings shown above into the Virtual Server Configuration menu and then click Add This Setting.

When you're finished, click Save Settings / Reboot near the left of the screen to save your changes.

And that's it! You're done!


Test if Your Ports are Open

Now that you have forwarded ports for Http File Server-HFS on the Planet ADE-4100 you should test to see if your ports are forwarded correctly.
