Before Forwarding a Port Setup a Static IP Address

To setup port forwarding on the Qwest GT701-WG router your device needs to have a static IP address. You should complete one of the following steps first:

It's ok if you don't know your Qwest GT701-WG router's internal IP address. You can find it by doing one of the following:

Open a web browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox. Enter the internal IP address of your router in the address bar of your browser.

How to Port Forward Minecraft Server on the Qwest GT701-WG

Now that you are logged in to your Qwest GT701-WG router you should see the following:

Click the Advanced Setup button near the top of the page.

Click the Applications link near the left of the page.

Put a dot into the User radio button.

Click the New button near the bottom of the page.

Forward Ports 25565 on the Qwest GT701-WG

We will list a series of lines here that will show you exactly how to forward the ports you need to forward. Minecraft Server requires you to forward the 25565 ports. Go ahead and enter the settings shown above into the Rule Management menu and then click Apply.

You should see another page of settings that need to be entered into one of the blank lines on your routers Rule Management page. Go ahead and enter those settings and then click Apply.

Use the Lan Device box to choose a device to forward ports to. This box contains a list of device names that are visible on your network.

Select the applications you just created in the Available Rules list, then click the Add >> button to move them to the Applied Rules box.

When you are finished, click the Apply button.

Test if Your Ports are Open

Now that you have forwarded ports for Minecraft Server on the Qwest GT701-WG you should test to see if your ports are forwarded correctly.
