Before Forwarding a Port Setup a Static IP Address

To setup port forwarding on the Qwest GT701-WG router your computer needs to have a static IP address. You should complete one of the following steps first:

Login to the Qwest GT701-WG Router

Now we need to know your routers IP address. You can find it a variety of ways.

How To Find Your Qwest GT701-WG Router IP Address

It's ok if you don't know your Qwest GT701-WG router's internal IP address. You can find it by doing one of the following:

Login To The Qwest GT701-WG Router Using Your Web Browser

Open a web browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox. Enter the internal IP address of your router in the address bar of your browser.

In the picture above the address bar has http://www.google.com in it. Just replace all of that with the internal IP address of your Qwest GT701-WG router. By default the IP address should be set to 192.168.0.1.

How to Port Forward Qsee QSTD2416C16-320 on the Qwest GT701-WG


Having trouble forwarding ports on the Qwest GT701-WG?

If you are having trouble with this guide, then perhaps PFConfig may be your solution. PFConfig is a software tool that will automatically forward ports for your Qwest GT701-WG router to save you time and hassle.

Configuring the DVR to pick up an IP address

  • Press Menu
  • Select System

  • Select Network

  • Put a check in the DHCP box.
  • Select OK.

  • Exit out to the live cameras by pressing the ESC button on the DVR.


Power Cycle the DVR

  • Remove the power cable from the back of the dvr.
  • Wait 20 seconds.
  • Plug in the power cable.


Identifying the IP address

  • Press Menu
  • Select Info
  • Select Network

  • Write down the IP address, subnet mask & gateway found on your info network screen.



Assign a Static IP

  • Press Menu
  • Select System

  • Select Network

  • Remove the check from the DHCP box.
  • Input the same IP address, subnet mask & gateway - (you wrote down earlier).

  • Select ok

Now that you are logged in to your Qwest GT701-WG router you should see the following:

Click the Advanced Setup button near the top of the page.

Click the Applications link near the left of the page.

Put a dot into the User radio button.

Click the New button near the bottom of the page.

Forward Ports 80 on the Qwest GT701-WG

We will list a series of lines here that will show you exactly how to forward the ports you need to forward. Qsee QSTD2416C16-320 requires you to forward the 80,2000 ports. Go ahead and enter the settings shown above into the Rule Management menu and then click Apply.

Forward Ports 2000 on the Qwest GT701-WG

You should see another page of settings that need to be entered into one of the blank lines on your routers Rule Management page. Go ahead and enter those settings and then click Apply.

Use the Lan Device box to choose a computer to forward ports to. This box contains a list of computer names that are visible on your network.

Select the applications you just created in the Available Rules list, then click the Add >> button to move them to the Applied Rules box.

When you are finished, click the Apply button.


Test if Your Ports are Open

Now that you have forwarded ports for Qsee QSTD2416C16-320 on the Qwest GT701-WG you should test to see if your ports are forwarded correctly.
