Port Forwarding the SMC 7004WFW Router for XBConnect

Before Forwarding a Port Setup a Static IP Address

To setup port forwarding on the SMC 7004WFW router your device needs to have a static IP address. You should complete one of the following steps first:

Now that you have setup a Static IP Address on your device, please enter the IP address that you assigned to your device here:

Login to the SMC 7004WFW Router

Now we need to know your routers IP address. You can find it a variety of ways.

How To Find Your SMC 7004WFW Router IP Address

It's ok if you don't know your SMC 7004WFW router's internal IP address. You can find it by doing one of the following:

Login To The SMC 7004WFW Router Using Your Web Browser

Open a web browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox. Enter the internal IP address of your router in the address bar of your browser.

In the picture above the address bar has http://www.google.com in it. Just replace all of that with the internal IP address of your SMC 7004WFW router. By default the IP address should be set to

You should see a box prompting you for your SMC 7004WFW password. Enter the password now.

Click the Login button to log in to your SMC 7004WFW router.

Now that you are logged in to your SMC 7004WFW router you should see the following:

Click the Advanced Setup link near the center of the page.

Click the NAT link near the left of the page.

You should now see a new menu. In this new menu, click Virtual Server.

Forward Ports 8602 on the SMC 7004WFW

We will list a series of lines here that will show you exactly how to forward the ports you need to forward. XBConnect requires you to forward the following ports: 8602. Go ahead and enter the settings shown above into the Virtual Server menu.

Forward Ports 8602 on the SMC 7004WFW

You should see another page of settings that need to be entered into one of the blank lines on your routers Virtual Server page. Go ahead and enter those settings now.

When you're finished, click Enter near the bottom of the screen to save your changes.

And that's it! You're done!

Test if Your Ports are Open

Now that you have forwarded ports for XBConnect on the SMC 7004WFW you should test to see if your ports are forwarded correctly.
