Before Forwarding a Port Setup a Static IP Address

To setup port forwarding on the Sierra Wireless AirCard_802S router your device needs to have a static IP address. You should complete one of the following steps first:

Login to the Sierra Wireless AirCard_802S Router

Now we need to know your routers IP address. You can find it a variety of ways.

How To Find Your Sierra Wireless AirCard_802S Router IP Address

It's ok if you don't know your Sierra Wireless AirCard_802S router's internal IP address. You can find it by doing one of the following:

Login To The Sierra Wireless AirCard_802S Router Using Your Web Browser

Open a web browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox. Enter the internal IP address of your router in the address bar of your browser.

In the picture above the address bar has http://www.google.com in it. Just replace all of that with the internal IP address of your Sierra Wireless AirCard_802S router. By default the IP address should be set to

How to Port Forward KGuard KG-SHA104 on the Sierra Wireless AirCard_802S

Having trouble forwarding ports on the Sierra Wireless AirCard_802S?

If you are having trouble with this guide, then perhaps PFConfig may be your solution. PFConfig is a software tool that will automatically forward ports for your router to save you time and hassle.

First we need to make sure that your DVR is configured correctly. In the KGuard menu system you should see the following.

Go ahead and select Main Menu.

Now select Network

Make sure Type is set to Static, then make a note of the IP Address listed here. In the picture above the IP Address is listed as Yours will be different. Write down the numbers that you see on your DVR. This is the address that you'll be forwarding the ports to.

Now that you are logged in to your Sierra Wireless AirCard_802S router you should see the following:

Click the Advanced Settings button near the top of the page.

Click the Router button near the top of the page.

You should now see a new menu. In this new menu, click Port Forward.

Forward Ports 80 on the Sierra Wireless AirCard_802S

We will list a series of lines here that will show you exactly how to forward the ports you need to forward. KGuard KG-SHA104 requires you to forward the 80,9000 ports. Go ahead and enter the settings shown above into the Port Forward menu and then click Add.

You should see another page of settings that need to be entered into one of the blank lines on your routers Port Forward page. Go ahead and enter those settings and then click Add.

When you're finished, click Save near the bottom of the screen to save your changes.

And that's it! You're done!

Test if Your Ports are Open

Now that you have forwarded ports for KGuard KG-SHA104 on the Sierra Wireless AirCard_802S you should test to see if your ports are forwarded correctly.
