What is Port Forwarding?

View all Router Screenshots.

Before we can forward ports for ActiveWebCam, we need to figure out what ports ActiveWebCam++ is using. Here is a brief walkthrough on how to do that. Go ahead and open up ActiveWebCam and get into the camera you want to modifies settings.

At the top of the camera's properties page click the Broadcasting link.

There are two things on this page that require forwarding a port. If you have Remote Access enabled, you need to forward the port in the remote accesses section's Port box. You can change the port that is in that box if you like. Please enter the port for Remote Access into the box below. If you are not using Remote Access just leave this box blank.

The HTTP Server is the second thing in Active WebCam that requires port forwarding. The Port box in the Http Server section contains the port number that must be forwarded for the HTTP Server. You can change that port number if you like. Please enter the port you are using for the HTTP Server into the box below. If you are not using the HTTP Server just leave this box blank.
