Before Forwarding a Port Setup a Static IP Address

To setup port forwarding on the Tenda W311R+ router your device needs to have a static IP address. You should complete one of the following steps first:

Login to the Tenda W311R+ Router

Now we need to know your routers IP address. You can find it a variety of ways.

How To Find Your Tenda W311R+ Router IP Address

It's ok if you don't know your Tenda W311R+ router's internal IP address. You can find it by doing one of the following:

Login To The Tenda W311R+ Router Using Your Web Browser

Open a web browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox. Enter the internal IP address of your router in the address bar of your browser.

In the picture above the address bar has http://www.google.com in it. Just replace all of that with the internal IP address of your Tenda W311R+ router. By default the IP address should be set to

You should see a box prompting you for your username and password. Enter your username and password now.

Click the Ok button to log in to your Tenda W311R+ router.

Having trouble forwarding ports on the Tenda W311R+?

If you are having trouble with this guide, then perhaps PFConfig may be your solution. PFConfig is a software tool that will automatically forward ports for your router to save you time and hassle.

Configuring the DVR to pick up an IP address

  • Press Menu
  • Select System

  • Select Network

  • Put a check in the DHCP box.
  • Select OK.

  • Exit out to the live cameras by pressing the ESC button on the DVR.

Power Cycle the DVR

  • Remove the power cable from the back of the dvr.
  • Wait 20 seconds.
  • Plug in the power cable.

Identifying the IP address

  • Press Menu
  • Select Info
  • Select Network

  • Write down the IP address, subnet mask & gateway found on your info network screen.

Assign a Static IP

  • Press Menu
  • Select System

  • Select Network

  • Remove the check from the DHCP box.
  • Input the same IP address, subnet mask & gateway - (you wrote down earlier).

  • Select ok

Now that you are logged in to your Tenda W311R+ router you should see the following:

Click the Virtual Server link near the left of the page.

You should now see a new menu. In this new menu, click Port Range Forwarding.

Forward Ports 80 on the Tenda W311R+

We will list a series of lines here that will show you exactly how to forward the ports you need to forward. Qsee QSTD2416C8-320 requires you to forward the following ports: 80,2000. Go ahead and enter the settings shown above into the Port Range Forwarding menu.

You should see another page of settings that need to be entered into one of the blank lines on your routers Port Range Forwarding page. Go ahead and enter those settings now.

When you're finished, click Apply near the bottom of the screen to save your changes.

And that's it! You're done!

Test if Your Ports are Open
