Port Forwarding the Topcom WBR-7001g Router for Everquest

Before Forwarding a Port Setup a Static IP Address

To setup port forwarding on the Topcom WBR-7001g router your computer needs to have a static IP address. You should complete one of the following steps first:

Login to the Topcom WBR-7001g Router

Now we need to know your routers IP address. You can find it a variety of ways.

How To Find Your Topcom WBR-7001g Router IP Address

It's ok if you don't know your Topcom WBR-7001g router's internal IP address. You can find it by doing one of the following:

Login To The Topcom WBR-7001g Router Using Your Web Browser

Open a web browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox. Enter the internal IP address of your router in the address bar of your browser.

In the picture above the address bar has http://www.google.com in it. Just replace all of that with the internal IP address of your Topcom WBR-7001g router. By default the IP address should be set to 192.168.1.1.

You should see a box prompting you for your username and password. Enter your username and password now.

The Default Topcom WBR-7001g Router Username is: admin

The Default Topcom WBR-7001g Router Password is: admin


Click the Ok button to log in to your Topcom WBR-7001g router.

Now that you are logged in to your Topcom WBR-7001g router you should see the following:

Click the General Setup link near the left of the page.

This router has two different sections that allow you to forward ports. One section allows you to forward a range of ports, and the other allows you to forward a single port. To forward a range of ports, click Port Forwarding. To forward a single port, click Virtual Server.

Forward Ports 1024 on the Topcom WBR-7001g

We will list a series of lines here that will show you exactly how to forward the ports you need to forward. Everquest requires you to forward the 1024,6000,7000 ports. Go ahead and enter the settings shown above into the Port Forwarding or Virtual Server menu and then click Add.

You should see another page of settings that need to be entered into one of the blank lines on your routers Port Forwarding or Virtual Server page. Go ahead and enter those settings and then click Add.

You should see another page of settings that need to be entered into one of the blank lines on your routers Port Forwarding or Virtual Server page. Go ahead and enter those settings and then click Add.

When you're finished, click Apply near the bottom of the screen to save your changes.

And that's it! You're done!


Test if Your Ports are Open

Now that you have forwarded ports for Everquest on the Topcom WBR-7001g you should test to see if your ports are forwarded correctly.
