Before Forwarding a Port Setup a Static IP Address

To setup port forwarding on the Topcom WBR654 router your computer needs to have a static IP address. You should complete one of the following steps first:

Login to the Topcom WBR654 Router

Now we need to know your routers IP address. You can find it a variety of ways.

How To Find Your Topcom WBR654 Router IP Address

It's ok if you don't know your Topcom WBR654 router's internal IP address. You can find it by doing one of the following:

Login To The Topcom WBR654 Router Using Your Web Browser

Open a web browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox. Enter the internal IP address of your router in the address bar of your browser.

In the picture above the address bar has http://www.google.com in it. Just replace all of that with the internal IP address of your Topcom WBR654 router. By default the IP address should be set to 192.168.1.1.

You should see a box prompting you for your username and password. Enter your username and password now.

Click the Ok button to log in to your Topcom WBR654 router.

How to Port Forward StrongDC++ on the Topcom WBR654


Having trouble forwarding ports on the Topcom WBR654?

If you are having trouble with this guide, then perhaps PFConfig may be your solution. PFConfig is a software tool that will automatically forward ports for your Topcom WBR654 router to save you time and hassle.

Before we can forward ports for StrongDC++, we need to figure out what ports StrongDC++ is using. Here is a brief walkthrough on how to do that. Go ahead and open up StrongDC++.

In the menu at the top of your screen click the File option. In the list the drops down click the Settings link.

There should be a list of options on the left hand side of the window that poped up. Click the Connection Settings option in this list. Put a dot into the Firewall with Manual Port Forwarding radio button. You should see a TCP box and an UDP box. Enter a random port into each of these boxes. It doesn't matter what ports you choose, but a port numbers between 10000 and 60000 would be a good idea. A higher numbered port is generally the best to use, because most ISP's do not block the higher numbered ports. Please enter the port you chose for the TCP box into the box below.

Now that you are logged in to your Topcom WBR654 router you should see the following:

Click the Access button near the left of the page.

The menu near the top should change. In this new menu, click Virtual Server.

We will list a series of lines here that will show you exactly how to forward the ports you need to forward. StrongDC++ requires you to forward the ports you entered above. Go ahead and enter the settings shown above into the Virtual Server menu and then click Add.

You should see another page of settings that need to be entered into one of the blank lines on your routers Virtual Server page. Go ahead and enter those settings and then click Add.
