Before Forwarding a Port Setup a Static IP Address

To setup port forwarding on the US Robotics USR8000 router your device needs to have a static IP address. You should complete one of the following steps first:

Login to the US Robotics USR8000 Router

Now we need to know your routers IP address. You can find it a variety of ways.

How To Find Your US Robotics USR8000 Router IP Address

It's ok if you don't know your US Robotics USR8000 router's internal IP address. You can find it by doing one of the following:

Login To The US Robotics USR8000 Router Using Your Web Browser

Open a web browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox. Enter the internal IP address of your router in the address bar of your browser.

In the picture above the address bar has http://www.google.com in it. Just replace all of that with the internal IP address of your US Robotics USR8000 router. By default the IP address should be set to

You should see a box prompting you for your US Robotics USR8000 password. Enter the password now.

Click the Log in button to log in to your US Robotics USR8000 router.

How to Port Forward QSee QSDR44DRTM-320 on the US Robotics USR8000

Configuring the DVR to pick up an IP address

  • Press Menu
  • Select Network
  • Make sure Type is set to DHCP

  • Select Apply
  • Select Exit
The DVR will reboot & pick up an ip address from the router.

Identifying the IP address

  • Press Menu
  • Select Network
  • Write down the ip address, subnet mask & gateway.

Assign a Static IP

  • Change Type to Static
  • Input the same ip address, subnet mask & gateway - (you wrote down earlier).

  • Select Apply
  • Select Exit
Now you have completed the ip configuration for the dvr.
Move on to the port forwarding section . in you router.

Now that you are logged in to your US Robotics USR8000 router you should see the following:

Click the Virtual Server link near the left of the page.

Forward Ports 80,9000 on the US Robotics USR8000

We will list a series of lines here that will show you exactly how to forward the ports you need to forward. QSee QSDR44DRTM-320 requires you to forward the following ports: 80,9000. Go ahead and enter the settings shown above into the Virtual Server menu.

When you're finished, click Save near the bottom of the screen to save your changes.

Test if Your Ports are Open
