Port Forwarding the W-linx MB-400XP Router for Subsonic

Before Forwarding a Port Setup a Static IP Address

To setup port forwarding on the W-linx MB-400XP router your device needs to have a static IP address. You should complete one of the following steps first:

Now that you have setup a Static IP Address on your device, please enter the IP address that you assigned to your device here:

Login to the W-linx MB-400XP Router

Now we need to know your routers IP address. You can find it a variety of ways.

How To Find Your W-linx MB-400XP Router IP Address

It's ok if you don't know your W-linx MB-400XP router's internal IP address. You can find it by doing one of the following:

Login To The W-linx MB-400XP Router Using Your Web Browser

Open a web browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox. Enter the internal IP address of your router in the address bar of your browser.

In the picture above the address bar has http://www.google.com in it. Just replace all of that with the internal IP address of your W-linx MB-400XP router. By default the IP address should be set to

You should see a box prompting you for your W-linx MB-400XP password. Enter the password now.

The Default W-linx MB-400XP Router Password is: admin

Click the Ok button to log in to your W-linx MB-400XP router.

Now that you are logged in to your W-linx MB-400XP router you should see the following:

Click the Virtual Server link near the left of the page.

Forward Ports 80 on the W-linx MB-400XP

We will list a series of lines here that will show you exactly how to forward the ports you need to forward. Subsonic requires you to forward the following ports: 80,4040. Go ahead and enter the settings shown above into the Virtual Server menu.

Forward Ports 4040 on the W-linx MB-400XP

You should see another page of settings that need to be entered into one of the blank lines on your routers Virtual Server page. Go ahead and enter those settings now.

When you're finished, click Save near the bottom of the screen to save your changes.

And that's it! You're done!

Test if Your Ports are Open

Now that you have forwarded ports for Subsonic on the W-linx MB-400XP you should test to see if your ports are forwarded correctly.
