Port Forwarding the ZyXEL Prestige660RU-T3 Router for QSee QSDT DVRs

Before Forwarding a Port Setup a Static IP Address

To setup port forwarding on the ZyXEL Prestige660RU-T3 router your device needs to have a static IP address. You should complete one of the following steps first:

Login to the ZyXEL Prestige660RU-T3 Router

Now we need to know your routers IP address. You can find it a variety of ways.

How To Find Your ZyXEL Prestige660RU-T3 Router IP Address

It's ok if you don't know your ZyXEL Prestige660RU-T3 router's internal IP address. You can find it by doing one of the following:

Login To The ZyXEL Prestige660RU-T3 Router Using Your Web Browser

Open a web browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox. Enter the internal IP address of your router in the address bar of your browser.

In the picture above the address bar has http://www.google.com in it. Just replace all of that with the internal IP address of your ZyXEL Prestige660RU-T3 router. By default the IP address should be set to

You should see a box prompting you for your username and password. Enter your username and password now.

Click the Ok button to log in to your ZyXEL Prestige660RU-T3 router.

How to Port Forward QSee QSDT DVRs on the ZyXEL Prestige660RU-T3

Having trouble forwarding ports on the ZyXEL Prestige660RU-T3?

If you are having trouble with this guide, then perhaps PFConfig may be your solution. PFConfig is a software tool that will automatically forward ports for your router to save you time and hassle.

Configuring the DVR to pick up an IP address

  • Press Menu
  • Select System

  • Select Network

  • Put a check in the DHCP box.
  • Select OK.

  • Exit out to the live cameras by pressing the ESC button on the DVR.

Power Cycle the DVR

  • Remove the power cable from the back of the dvr.
  • Wait 20 seconds.
  • Plug in the power cable.

Identifying the IP address

  • Press Menu
  • Select Info
  • Select Network

  • Write down the IP address, subnet mask & gateway found on your info network screen.

Assign a Static IP

  • Press Menu
  • Select System

  • Select Network

  • Remove the check from the DHCP box.
  • Input the same IP address, subnet mask & gateway - (you wrote down earlier).

  • Select ok

Now that you are logged in to your ZyXEL Prestige660RU-T3 router you should see the following:

Click the NAT link near the center of the page.

There should be a dot in the SUA Only setting. If this isn't the case, you can not setup port forwarding without making a major change to your network. I wouldn't advise changing this unless you know what you are doing. Alright, if there is a dot in the SUA Only setting, go ahead and click Edit Details.

Forward Ports 80 on the ZyXEL Prestige660RU-T3

We will list a series of lines here that will show you exactly how to forward the ports you need to forward. QSee QSDT DVRs requires you to forward the following ports: 80,2000. Go ahead and enter the settings shown above into the Edit SUA/NAT Server Set menu.

  Start Port No. End Port No. IP Address

Forward Ports 2000 on the ZyXEL Prestige660RU-T3

You should see another page of settings that need to be entered into one of the blank lines on your routers Edit SUA/NAT Server Set page. Go ahead and enter those settings now.

When you're finished, click Save near the bottom of the screen to save your changes.

And that's it! You're done!

Test if Your Ports are Open

Now that you have forwarded ports for QSee QSDT DVRs on the ZyXEL Prestige660RU-T3 you should test to see if your ports are forwarded correctly.
