Before Forwarding a Port Setup a Static IP Address

To setup port forwarding on the ZyXEL ZyWall50 router your device needs to have a static IP address. You should complete one of the following steps first:

Now that you have setup a Static IP Address on your device, please enter the IP address that you assigned to your device here:

Don't Skip This Step!

In windows click on the Start button, and then click Run. This will bring up a Run program box. In the textbox in that window type cmd (WinXP/2k/Vista/Win7) or command (Win95/98/ME). Then click the Ok button. A black msdos prompt window should be open in front of you. Type telnet or, and then press the enter key on your keyboard.

You should prompted for your password. Enter your password now. By default the password is 1234.

Type 15 at the prompt to get to the Nat options.

Forward Ports 1080 on the ZyXEL ZyWall50

We will list a series of lines here that will show you exactly how to forward the ports you need to forward. GNUnet requires you to forward the following ports: 1080,2086. Go ahead and enter the settings shown above into the Nat Server Setup menu.

You should see another page of settings that need to be entered into one of the blank lines on your routers Nat Server Setup page. Go ahead and enter those settings now.

Type enter at the prompt.

Type 99 at the prompt.

Test if Your Ports are Open

Now that you have forwarded ports for GNUnet on the ZyXEL ZyWall50 you should test to see if your ports are forwarded correctly.
