Open a web browser like internet explorer or Netscape.
Enter the ip address of your router in the address bar of your browser. In the picture above the address bar has http://www.google.com in it. Just replace all of that with the ip address of your router. By default the ip address should be set to 10.0.0.2.
You should see a box prompting you for your username and password. Enter your username and password now. By default the username is admin, and the password is admin. Click the Ok button to log in to your router.
In the menu on the left hand side under click the Port Triggers.
Use the ID drop down box to select a rule ID that does not already exist in the table further down the page. Most of the information you need to fill out the boxes on this page, should be provided by the software manufacture. You can check our Common Ports page to see if we have the information listed there. Enter the trigger port into the Trigger Port box. You can think of the trigger port as a light switch for the incoming ports. When there is data flowing out of the trigger port, the incoming ports are on or forwarded. When there is no data flowing on the trigger port, the incomming ports are off or not forwarded. If you want to forward a single port, enter that port number into the Public Start Port and the Public End Port boxes. If you want to forward a range of ports, enter the lowest port number of that range into the Public Start Port box. Enter the highest port of the range into the Public End Port. Use the Trigger Type drop down box to select the protocol type of the trigger port. Use the Public Type drop down box to select the protocol type of the public ports. Once again both of the protocol types should be provided by the software manufacture. When you are finished with this configuration click the Add button to add it to the table below.
When you are finished adding configurations to your router click the Save Settings link at the bottom of this page. I do not have a screenshot of this page. Go ahead and use that page to save your settings. And that is it! You are done!
