Open a web browser like internet explorer or Netscape.
Enter the ip address of your router in the address bar of your browser. In the picture above the address bar has http://www.google.com in it. Just replace all of that with the ip address of your router. By default the ip address should be set to 192.168.8.1.
You should see a box prompting you for your username and password. Enter your username and password now. By default the username is admin, and the password is blank. Click the Ok button to log in to your router.
In the menu on the left hand side of your screen, click Advanced. In the menu under Advanced click the Auto 2-way Applications link.
By default the Auto 2-way Applications page is disabled. Click the Enable radio button. Then click the Save and Restart button. When you do this it your router will restart. When your router is up and running, log into it again and get to the Auto 2-way Applications page. You will find that the page looks different.
Check the Well known application box for the program you are setting up port triggering for. If the program is there, use the ID box to select an ID of a blank line. Then click the copy to button. You will see that a configuration has been copied into the line you selected. Click the Save and Restart button to save your changes. If you did not see the program you are trying to setup port triggering for, then enter the trigger port of that program into a Trigger Port box of a blank line. The trigger port a port on which data will be sent from your computer to the internet. The trigger port acts as a switch for the incoming ports. The trigger port turns the incoming ports on and off. If you are unsure of the port range/ranges check the Ports list page or the software manufacture's homepage. Enter the incoming ports into the Incoming Ports box. These are the ports that will be forwarded when the trigger port is "on". These ports can be entered in a list like 54,56,80, a range like 500-600, or a combination of both like 54,56,80,500-600.
When you are done adding port triggering configurations click the Save and Restart button. And that's it! You're done!
