Open a web browser like internet explorer or Netscape.
Enter the ip address of your router in the address bar of your browser. In the picture above the address bar has http://www.google.com in it. Just replace all of that with the ip address of your router. By default the ip address should be set to 192.168.1.1.
You should see a box prompting you for your username and password. Enter your username and password now. By default the username is , and the password is admin. Click the Ok button to log in to your router.
In the menu on the left hand side of your screen, click Advanced. In the menu under Advanced click the NAT link. A new menu should drop down, once you click NAT. In this new menu click Port Triggering.
Click the Add button close to the top of this page.
Put a dot into the Custom Application radio button. To the right of Custom Applications there should be a text box. Enter a name for the program you are doing triggering for. It doesn't really matter what this name is, but something that will remind you why this entry is here would be a good idea. If you only have one trigger port, enter that trigger port into the Trigger Port Start and the Trigger Port End boxes. If you have a range of trigger ports enter the lowest number of the range into Trigger Port Start box, and the highest number of that range into the Trigger Port End box. You can think of the Triggers ports as sort of a light switch for the Incoming ports. When there is data flowing on the trigger ports, the incoming ports are on or forwarded. When there is no data on the trigger ports, the incoming ports are off or not forwarded. Go ahead and enter the ports to forward into the Incoming Ports boxes. If you need to forward one port, enter that port number into both the Incoming Port Start and the Incoming Port End boxes. If you need to forward a range of ports, enter the lowest number of that range inot the Incoming Port Start box. Then enter the highest port in that range into the Incoming Port End box.
When you are done adding port triggering configurations click the Save/Restart button. And that's it! You're done!
