  2. Login to your 2wire 2701HG-S router.

    • Click the Firewall button.
    • Click the Firewall Settings button.
    • Use the Select a computer to select the device to forward ports to.

When you use Network Utilities you get your port forwarded right now!

Step 1

It is important to setup a static ip address in the device that you are forwarding a port to. This ensures that your ports will remain open even after your device reboots.

  • Recommended - Our free program will setup a static IP address for you.
  • Or follow our Static IP Address guides to setup a static IP address.

After setting up a static ip address on your devices you need to login to your router.

Step 2

Now we are going to login to your 2wire 2701HG-S router. Your router has a web interface, so you will login to it using your web browser. This can be either Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, or Edge. It usually does not matter which browser you choose to use.

Open up your web browser and find the address bar. It should look something like this:

192.168.1.254

In the picture above the address bar has 192.168.1.254 in it. Just replace all of that with the IP address of your 2wire 2701HG-S router. Your router's IP address can also be refered to as your computer's default gateway.

By default the IP address is set to: 192.168.1.254

After entering the IP address of your router you can simply press enter. If all goes well you will see the following screen:

Look for your password on the bottom of your router or in the paperwork that came with your router.

Step 4

Here are the ports to forward for Xbox Live:

TCP Ports:3074
UDP Ports:3074

If you are looking for the ports for a different application you can find it by either:

You need to name this entry in the Application Name box. The name does not make any difference in the forward; it's just there so that you can remember later why you setup this forward.

Select the protocol type using the Protocol radio button. If you need both TCP and UDP then create a duplicate configuration.

The first configuration needs to have TCP selected while the second one has UDP selected.

If you are just forwarding a single port number then you can simply enter that same number into both the Port (or Range) From and the Port (or Range) To boxes. If you are forwarding a range of ports, usually separated by a hyphen, then you need to enter the lowest number of that range into the Port (or Range) From box and then enter highest number into the Port (or Range) To box.

Use the Protocol Timeout (seconds) box you need to enter a protocol timeout. Unless you have a reason to use different numbers then you should use the default protocol timeouts: 86400 for TCP and 600 for UDP.

Go ahead and leave the Map to Host Port box empty.

The default for Application Type is set to None. Leave it like this.

Click the Add Definition button.

Click the Back button.
