How to Open Ports in a Netis WF2419E Router

Your Netis WF2419E router has a firewall to help protect your local network from unwanted Internet access. Firewalls protect your home network by blocking all incoming and outgoing connections that are not deemed safe. When playing an online game or using an online program some of the needed connections for that application may be blocked. In order to unblock these connections you need to create a port forward.

In this guide we will be walking you through each of the following steps in detail:

  • How to setup a static IP address on the computer of device you are forwarding these ports to.
  • How to login to the Netis WF2419E router.
  • How to navigate to the port forwarding section of the router interface.
  • How to create a port forward entry on your Netis WF2419E router.

We think that forwarding a port should be easy. That's why we created Network Utilities. Our software does everything that you need to forward a port.

When you use Network Utilities you get your port forwarded right now!

Step 1

It is important to setup a static ip address in the device that you are forwarding a port to. This ensures that your ports will remain open even after your device reboots.

  • Recommended - Our free program will setup a static IP address for you.
  • Or follow our Static IP Address guides to setup a static IP address.

After setting up a static ip address on your devices you need to login to your router.

Step 2

We can now login to the Netis WF2419E router interface. This router, along with most others, use a web interface which means you need to open the router settings using a web browser. It does not matter which browser you decide to use, we recommend using one you are familiar with. Some of the more common browsers are Chrome, Internet Explorer, and Firefox.

Open up the web browser of your choice and find the address bar. Typically the address bar is at the top of the page like this:

192.168.1.1

In the above image the address bar has 192.168.1.1 in it. This is what you need to make your address bar look like. Simply enter the router's IP address in the address bar.

If you have changed the router's IP address, simply enter that in the address bar instead of the default one. If you don't remember what you changed your IP address to, then you need to look it up. To do that, follow the directions on this How To Find Your Router's IP Address page.

The default IP address for the Netis WF2419E router is: 192.168.1.1

Once you have entered the router's IP address into the address bar, click the Enter key on your keyboard. If you entered the correct IP address you are given a login window like this:

Netis WF2419E Quick Setup

Most router's have an authentication page but it appears as if the Netis WF2419E router does not. You should be logged in if you did all the above steps.

Step 3

To find the port forwarding section of the router, we begin on the Quick Setup page:

Netis WF2419E Quick Setup

On this page, click the Advanced option in the upper right corner.

Netis WF2419E Status

You should now see a page like the one above. Click the option in the left sidebar labeled Forwarding.

Netis WF2419E Virtual Servers

This takes you to the Virtual Servers page like the one you see above.

Step 4

Here are the ports to forward for Xbox Live:

TCP Ports:3074
UDP Ports:3074

If you are looking for the ports for a different application you can find it by either:

Make up a name to put in the Description box. The name does not have any effect on the functionality of the forward, it's simply there so you can know why it was created.

Enter the IP address to forward these ports to into the IP Address box. If you are forwarding ports so you can run a program on a device other than your computer then you can enter your device's IP address into that box.

Select the required protocol for these ports from the Protocol dropdown box.

If you are forwarding a single port, enter that port number into both of the External Port and both of the Internal Port boxes. If you are forwarding a range of ports, enter the lowest number of that range into the left hand External Port and Internal Port boxes. Then enter the highest number of that range into the right hand External Port and Internal Port boxes.

Click the Add button when you are done.

Don't forget to click the Add button after each port forward entry.

Don't Forget to Test Your Ports

You have done everything we recommended to open your ports but how do you really know whether the ports opened correctly. we recommend using our FREE Open Port Checker. It is a great way to check and see if you opened the port or not. There are a lot of port checkers on the Internet but ours is guaranteed to be accurate.
