First Shrine

Welcome to our LostWinds walkthrough. This game is a WiiWare exclusive game, meaning you can't buy it in the store. You can only get this game by downloading it on the Wii's Shopping Channel.

In this game you'll use your wii remote pointer to help guide your character using the power of the wind.

First start by holding the A button and moving your pointer rapidly over Toku, your character in this game.

You'll also use the nunchuk attachment's analog stick to move your character.

Start by walking to the right. Toku will automatically climb up the ledges here. Exit your screen on the right.

Continue right. You'll reach a bridge that will crumble when you stand on it.

This will drop you into some caverns below. Walk off the edge to your right. Toku will automatically jump when running off an edge.

You'll see an object sitting below the waterfall you come to. Press the Z button on the nunchuk attachment to pick up objects.

The object you picked up is Enril, the Wind Spirit. You control her with your pointer throughout the game.

This will give you a new ability. You can press and hold A, while drawing a line through Toku, then release A.

To your right, you'll see some fruit. You can slash your Enril, your pointer, through the fruit to drop it.

Press Z to pick it up and eat it. This will restore some health if needed.

Use the gust ability to jump up the ledges on your right.

From the second ledge, use the gust to jump leftward.

Continue jumping to platforms on your left, until you reach a Poyak, a plant that will propel Toku into the air.

Get in the Poyak and draw a quick line up with Enril, just like doing the gust jump. This will launch Toku. Use it to get to the platform on your upper-left.

Then continue platforming to the upper-right, then leftward.

You'll come to a cliff that is too high to fall from. Drop off the cliff and hold A while frantically drawing a zig-zag under Toku. This will slow his decent, landing him on the ground safely.

Exit to your left.

You'll find your first shrine here.

Step on the button-like platform and draw a quick gust of air across the propeller, found above the shrine.

This will increase Enril's power, letting you move Toku higher than before. You can basically do a gust twice to do a double-jump.

Double-jump onto the ledge to the left of the shrine. Collect Melodia Idol #1 of 24.

Head back to the right, past the fruit. Double-jump onto the ledge to your right and collect Melodia Idol #2.

Drop down on the right, slowing your fall.

At the bottom, head right, past the Poyak plant.

You'll come to your first enemies, the Glorbs.

They are easy to defeat. Just use Enril to gust them down into the ground or into something else hard.

Double gust onto the ledge on your right.

You'll find a sapling in need of some water.

Use a gust from Enril to blow some water from the waterfall onto the sapling. It will grow into a Polak.

Get in the Polak and have it gust you upward.

Gust over the pits while heading rightward, exiting the caverns.

You'll reach the village. Talk to the lady you come to. She'll inform you that Deo is looking for you.

Double gust up to the tree branch, found left of the woman you just talked to.

Gust your way rightward, across the branches.

To the upper-right, you'll find Melodia Idol #3.

Exit through the cave on the right, found under the Idol.

Drop down the cliff, slowing your descent.

You'll find a Melodia Statue. Walk in front of it and press the Z button to save your game. You'll find these statues in many places along your journey.

Go rightward and talk to Deo when you find him. He will ask you to go collect some herbs for his garden.

Enril will be concerned that Deo can't hear her.

Exit the screen to your right.

Continue right. There will be a small quake. The woman you come to will explain that it's an ongoing issue.

Double gust up the stairs to your right.

You'll come to the herb shop owner. He'll tell you that they are ruined from the quakes.

Double gust to the grassy ledge to your upper-left.

Then double gust onto the house found there.

Head to your upper-right, gusting up the cliff-sides.

You'll find a Melodia Statue (save point.)

Talk to the man here. He is an explorer named Notea. He'll tell you to look to the west of "Wither Falls" for the second shrine.

Head back to Deo and talk to him. He won't have any more chores for you.

Continue leftward, making your way back to the bridge you originally fell through.

Second Shrine

The man here will tell you that there is no way to cross the bridge that collapsed.

Of course, you do have a way. Use your double gust to jump yourself over it. If you fall into it, you can just walk back out and try again. Exit the screen on your left.

Fight a few Glorbs here, then continue on.

You'll find another Medolia Statue (save point.)

From the statue, you'll want to head to your upper-right, using the platforms in the trees.

Eventually, you'll reach vines blocking your path.

Gust your way leftward.

Take out the Glorbs you encounter.

Then enter the cave entrance on your left.

Here you'll find a new enemy. These are Squawks. They have a leafy skin on them, making them blend in well. Slam them into the ground a few times and they will change into a Glorb.

Once you've taken care of the Squawks, exit to your left.

Gust over the pit.

If you fall in, defeat the Glorbs.

You'll be able to get back up to the platform to your left. Use your gust to blow the boulder onto the switch.

This will open the door to your left, head through.

Defeat two more Squawks.

Use the Poyak to gust you to the upper-left cliff.

Use the Z button to grab onto the ring. Gust yourself upward while holding on and it will pull this lever, opening the door below.

Head through the door and collect Melodia Idol #4.

Use the Poyak to get onto the upper-right cliff

Take out the Glorbs and drop down the ledge to your right.

You'll be back at the boulder that was placed on the switch. Head to your lower right, but bring the boulder along with you.

Use a gust to blow the torch fire into the vined door.

Drop down and use the boulder on the switch you come to. This will open a doorway to your left.

Some spiky plants will block your path. Blow some wind across them and they'll duck into the ground for a few seconds.

Exit through the doorway on your left.

Drop down the ledge, slowing your descent.

You found the second shrine. Step on the switch and blow a gust of wind across its propeller.

This will give you the slipstream ability.

Head to your upper-left and you'll come to vines blocking a passage. We'll use our new slipstream ability here. Using the B button, draw a line from the fire to the vines (not through the rock.) When you release B, the fire will follow the path you drew and burn the vines.

Past the burnt vines, you'll find a Heli-bud. If you accidentally burnt it, you'll have a seed you can plant to make one. Pick up the Heli-bud with the Z button.

Go to the right edge of this platform. You'll see an opening in the roof. Draw a slipstream from you, into that opening.

The Heli-bud will fly you up there. Use a gust to get the rest of the way up, if needed.

Draw a slipstream from the torch to some vines blocking your path.

Grab Melodia Idol #5, then fall back down the opening.

Walk rightward off the edge. You'll fly using the Heli-bud (if it disappears, go get a new one.) When you get near the stalactite, draw a slipstream from yourself to the upper-right ledge.

Give yourself an additional boost with a gust to make it on the ledge, if needed. Exit to your right.

First Memory Chest

Blow a gust of wind across the spiky plant. They will duck into the ground, allowing you to pass.

Gust yourself up to the upper-right ledge.

You'll find a Glorb nest here. Kill any Glorbs you see.

Then draw a slipstream between the torch at the top of the screen and the Glorb nest.

Grab onto the Glorb nest and gust upward to destroy it.

Draw a slipstream from the torch to the vines to destroy them.

Exit to your right.

Blow a gust of wind across the torch to light it, if needed.

Then draw a slipstream between the torch and the vines.

Destroy the Glorbs in your path and continue forward.

You'll also come across a Squawk to kill.

Get down below the lit torch and draw a slipstream from it to the unlit torch on the other side of the wall.

Then draw a slipstream from the now-lit torch to the vines blocking your path.

As you continue forward, you'll be informed that some plants can be burnt using fire, creating a seed.

Get in the Poyak and gust upward to launch yourself.

When the lit torch above you is visible, quickly draw a slipstream from it to the unlit torch on your right.

Now you can easily draw a slipstream from the now-lit torch to the poyak.

Pick up the seed, left by the burning poyak.

Carry the seed leftward, until you reach a soft patch of ground. Press Z to plant it.

A seedling will appear in the dirt.

Draw a slipstream from the waterfall to the seedling to make it grow into a full poyak.

Use the poyak to get to the upper ledge.

Gust from this ledge to the upper-left ledge.

Then gust to the upper-right ledge.

Draw a slipstream from the torch to the spiky plant to get rid of it.

Destroy the Glorbs in your path.

Then drop down the ledge to your right.

At the bottom you'll find a large mushroom. You can use these to bounce off of. You just gust yourself or another object into them to bounce off it.

Bounce off the mushroom and then do an extra gust to reach the upper-left platform.

Draw a slipstream from the torch on your lower-right to the torch right above your head.

Then get on the platform on your upper-right. Draw a slipstream from the now-lit torch to the unlit torch above this platform.

Now draw a slipstream between this lit torch and the vines blocking your path on the right.

Exit the screen to the right.

Light the torch with a gust.

Then draw a slipstream between the torch and the vines to destroy them.

You'll find a Melodia Statue to save your game.

Gust yourself across the treetops and continue gusting to your upper-right.

You'll reach some vines blocking your path. Blow a gust across the torch above to light it.

Then draw a slipstream from this torch to the vines to destroy them. Exit to your right.

Pick up the Heli-bud.

While holding the Heli-bud, drop off the cliff on your right. Continue holding right, then draw a slipstream from yourself to the upper-right ledge.

The Heli-bud should carry you up to Melodia Idol #6.

Drop back down the ledge on your left, slowing your fall. Try to land on the right side of the pit. If you fall in, just work your way rightward to get out.

Exit to your right.

Continue rightward, through the town. There will be more enemies than there previously was.

Gust up the steps.

At the top of the stairs, gust to the upper-left and then onto the house.

Gust up to the upper-right, where you first found Notea. You'll find a different man working here. He will explain that Notea has gone off exploring the Cliffside Village, East of here.

Gust yourself over the pit to your right.

Grab the Heli-bud that you come to.

Jump off the platform to the right. Draw a slipstream between yourself and the grassy area above. You may need to give yourself an extra gust to make it all the way up. Grab Melodia Idol #7 here.

Now jump off the platform where you found the Melodia Idol, to your right, then take the exit on your right.

You'll come to some vines blocking your path downward. Destroy the Glorbs here.

Light the torch with a gust.

Draw a slipstream from this torch to the vines to destroy them.

Drop down and slow your descent.

You'll find another torch and vine down here to draw a slipstream between.

Next, you'll come to a pit with some Glorbs. Destroy them, then gust over the pit.

Gust yourself to the ledge on your upper-right.

Then gust yourself until you reach a ledge on your upper-left.

You'll find Melodia Idol #8 here.

Gust over the broken wooden bridge, above the windmill.

Drop down the pit.

Continue to drop down the ledges. The last one will be a far fall, so slow your descent.

Walk leftward over the wooden bridge.

Drop down the pit you come to.

You'll find a Melodia Statue to save you game.

To the right, you'll find Notea. He is trying to figure out how to open a door.

Go in the middle of the grass. You should be able to see a lit torch on your upper-left and an unlit one on your upper-right. Draw a slipstream from the lit one to the unlit one.

This will open the door. Go through it.

Kill the Glorbs in your path.

Drop down the pit you come to. On the right side, you'll find a boulder. Take this boulder with you as we head left.

At the bottom mushroom, you'll find Melodia Idol #9.

Continue leftward with the boulder.

Attack the Glorbs in your way.

Place the boulder on the switch to open the left door, then walk through.

Notea will tell you this is called the Chamber of Memories.

Go under the lit torch and draw a slipstream from the lit torch to the two unlit torches.

A chest will appear.

Grab onto the chest with Z and gust upward to open it.

You seem to have returned some of Deo's memories.

To the left of the chest, collect Melodia Idol #10.

Second Memory Chest

Exit the Memory Chest room, heading right.

Use the mushrooms to bounce you up.

Then exit to the left, making your way outdoors.

Use the Melodia Statue to save your game, then gust your way up the ledges here.

Head left and drop down the pit you come to.

Use the torch to burn the vines.

If you need some life, grab onto the vegetable and gust upward.

Continue leftward, until you reach Deo. He will be able to hear Enril again.

Deo will tell you that he sealed his memories within four sacred chests, one of which we just opened.

After talking to Deo, exit leftward.

Gust up onto the ledge, found before the waterfall.

Gust onto the next platform on your left. You'll find a vegetable here.

Gust leftward, as far as you can, to reach the next platform.

Enter the cave on your left.

Drop down the pit. Then draw a slipstream between the torch and the vines.

Go right, past the burnt vines and fight the Glorbs in your path.

Exit this area to your right.

You'll come to some Squawks to fight. Defeat them and head right.

Jump over the pit and grab onto the handle on the ground. Gust upward to pull on it.

This will open a trapdoor on your right, drop down it.

Blow a gust of wind across the unlit torch.

Draw a slipstream from the now-lit torch and the vines blocking your path.

Head left, through the burnt vines, and drop in the pit you come to.

To your right, you'll find a Melodia Statue. Use this to save your game.

Gust yourself and the boulder back to your upper-left.

Place the boulder on a pressure switch on the ground. This will open a door to your left. Walk through it.

Drop off the ledge on your left, slowing your descent.

Stand on the switch in front of the shrine. Blow a gust across the propeller.

You will now learn the Vortex ability.

Let's give it a shot. Find the wind stone (looks like a ball) to the left of the shrine. Gust the wind stone upward.

Hold down A and draw a circle around it.

It should hover in place. When it is near a crystal it will shatter it.

Go to the upper-left door. Create another vortex around the wind stone (after you gust it into the air.) This will shatter the crystal in the door, making it open. Exit through this door.

Here you'll find a new enemy, the Kalarab. Draw a vortex around the crab (no need to throw it into the air first.)

Gust the Kalarab downward and it'll become two Glorbs. Destroy those like normal.

Drop down the ledge on your left. You'll find some fruit here.

Use a vortex on the boulder. Then slam it into the trap door below.

Drop down the pit opened by the boulder, all the way to the bottom. Take out the Glorbs found here.

To the right you'll find a hanging fruit, Melodia Idol #11, and some yellow Squawks (which act just like the green ones.)

You'll find a gate on your right. Create a vortex around the boulder or some fruit and slam it into the gate. Exit through the now-open gate.

Drop down the pit on your right, slowing your descent.

Kill the Kalarab.

Create a vortex around the fruit.

Toss the fruit at the door to open it.

Jump up the ledges to your upper-right, then over to the Glorbs. Destroy the Glorbs.

Lift the boulder out of this pit, and drop it on the right side.

Bounce out of the pit with the mushroom. Make a vortex with the boulder and smash it through the door on your right.

Destroy the Squawks found here.

Climb the ledges on your right. You can use the mushroom to bounce up to the top one. Then head left.

Grab onto the handle found here, then gust upward. This will release the wind stone.

Go back down to the wind stone.

Then go back up to where you pulled the handle, bringing the wind stone with you. Toss the wind stone onto the wooden planks to your upper-right.

Get up onto the wooden planks, where you put the wind stone. Use the mushroom or some gusts to get the wind stone near the upper-left crystal.

Make a vortex with the wind stone. This will shatter the nearby crystal. Exit to the left.

You'll find Melodia Idol #13. Now exit back to the right.

Get back down onto the wooden plank with the large mushroom. You'll find the wind stone here. Toss the wind stone up to the crystal on the upper-right.

Jump up with the crystal and make a vortex with it, breaking the crystal on your right. Head through the revealed doorway.

You'll come to a crystal blocking your path. Take out the Glorbs, also found here.

You'll see a wind stone on the other side of the crystal. Make a vortex around it to shatter the crystal in front of you.

On the very right, you'll find Melodia Statue #14.

Make another vortex around the wind stone. This will destroy the crystal to your upper-right. Gust the wind stone and yourself up to where it was located.

Once again gust yourself and the wind stone to the upper-right.

Save using the Melodia Statue.

Make a vortex with the wind stone, shattering the crystal in the door. The door will open, go through it.

Grab onto the handle on the floor and gust upward. This will open the trap door on your right. Drop through the trap door.

Fight the Glorbs on your right.

There will also be a Kalarab here to fight.

After defeating the Kalarab, gust to the platform on your upper-right.

From here gust to the upper-left platform.

Grab a boulder found up here and take it back down with you.

Use the boulder to smash the wooden barrier on your right.

Continue right. You'll come to two pressure switches.

Put the hanging fruit onto the left pressure switch, then gust yourself up through the trap door that opens.

Once you are up there. Move the fruit onto the right pressure switch. This will open the trapdoor on your right.

Drop through the right trap door and collect Melodia Idol #15.

Draw a slipstream from the lit torch to the Poyak plant below.

Pick up the seed that remains, then gust yourself out of here.

Put a fruit back on the first pressure switch and go through the opened trap door.

Gust back up the platforms where you found the boulder.

At the top is some soft soil. Plant the seed in it.

A Poyak plant will grow. Use it to spit you up in the air, landing on the upper-left ledge. If you need an extra boost, you can gust yourself a little higher.

Exit to your right.

At the bottom-right, you'll find a gate. Create a vortex around the wind stone and have it smash open the gate for you.

Continue to the right. You'll find a seedling. Use a gust to throw some water on it.

It'll grow into a Poyak. Toss the wind stone up over the top-right ledge.

Get in the Poyak and have it spit you upward. Land on the upper-right ledge.

Drop down on the right and make a vortex with the wind stone to shatter the crystal barricade.

Go to the right. At the end of the tunnel, you'll find a lit torch. Draw a slipstream from this torch to the next torch on the left. Continue doing this until each torch is lit.

Now head back to the left where there's a Heli-Bud. Draw a slipstream from a lit torch to the Heli-Bud.

Pick up the seed that remains.

Gust yourself up to the upper-right platform.

Then to the upper-left.

Drop down and go leftward, past the stream.

Get on the platform with the soft soil and plant the seed in it. The Heli-Bud will grow. Gust yourself in the air, then hold Z and draw a slipstream from yourself upward.

Drop down into this trap door.

Pick the Heli-Bud you come to.

Use the Heli-Bud to fly to the upper-right corner, going under the stalactite. Be careful of the Vicious Glorb down below. It will spring up and grab onto you, killing you pretty easily. When it leaps up, make a vortex around it, then slam it into the ground.

This can be tricky, so you may want to defeat the Glorb before making your flight.

Then you can easily fly over with no worries.

You'll now find the second memory chest. Grab onto it and gust upward to open it. Deo will regain some of his memory.

Third Memory Chest

Exit rightward, out of the room with the second memory chest.

Continue rightward, out of the room where the first memory chest was.

Use the mushrooms to bounce up and exit to the left.

Now continue through the city and talk to Deo when you reach him. Make sure you talk to him. If you continue on without talking to him, you won't be able to finish your game. Deo will remember the locations of the other two memory chests. One at the highest point of Wither Falls, the other is on the east side of the Abandoned Village.

Deo will give you the Jumberella Cape.

Let's try out your cape right now. Gust yourself into the air, then hold the Z button and draw a slipstream between yourself and the cliff to your upper-right.

Head to the right. Use the large mushroom to bounce up.

Land on the left. You'll find a Heli-Bud here. We don't really need the Heli-Bud for this now that we have our cape. Get on the left side of the platform, then do a double gust.

After the second gust, hold Z. Now draw slipstreams until you can get on a ledge you will come to.

Head to the upper-right.

Exit on the right side here.

Drop down to the bottom of the pit you come to.

You'll find a boulder here. Make a vortex around it and slam it into the gate on the right.

Use the lit torch to burn the vines, opening a pit.

Gust the boulder you find to the upper-right, where you came from.

Now take the boulder down to the lower-right corner of the pit on your right. There's a gate here to destroy with it.

Go through the smashed gate and step on the pressure switch.

While standing on the pressure switch, gust the wind stone from the room above you, down to where you are.

Place the wind stone on the pressure switch.

Go up to where the wind stone was and defeat the Kalarab. Now you can collect the final Melodia Idol, #24!

Now bring the wind stone to the left, where the handle you pulled is.

Grab on and pull the handle.

Now the left door will be opened, and the right closed. Go left with the wind stone.

Use a vortex around the wind stone to shatter the crystal here.

Now you can get to the Memory Chest, previously blocked by the crystal.

Time to go speak with Deo again.

Use your cape to go upward, out of the pit. Then work your way leftward.

Boss Fight: Magmok

Return to Deo. You may want to fill up your life and retries before talking to him. He tells you he entrusted his power to the noble creature named Magmok, a devoted guardian in the past.

Deo will take you to the Chamber of Memories. He'll open a hole in the ground. Everything will start to shake. Deo says to get out of there, because something is wrong.

You discover Magmok is covered in Glorbs.

Time for the boss fight. I suggest getting on a ledge on one side. Magmok will slam his hand down. Notice the Glorb Nest on the back of his hand.

Draw a slipstream from the torch to the Glorb Nest.

Now that the Glorb Nest is burnt, jump on the back of Magmok's hand and grab onto the Glorb Nest. Gust upward to destroy it.

Use a vortex around the boulder. When Magmok leans his head forward, smash the boulder into it.

Now the process will repeat. Got on the opposite ledge to take out the Glorb Nest on his other hand.

Use the vortex around the boulder and then slam it into Magmok's head when he leans forward.

Magmok will fall down, revealing the back of his head.

Draw a slipstream from the torch to the Glorb Nest on the back of his head.

Grab the Glorb Nest and gust upward to destroy it.

Magmok will be free of the Glorb infestation.

Deo will gain his power back.

Congratulation! Now you'll be treated to the game's ending.

After the game's ending, you'll be teased with "To be continued..."
